on the channel 4 teletext page there was an article that said it seems likely there will be another X-files film featuring David Duchovny

He did say that he had hoped that X-Files would have turned into a film franchise (like Star Trek Generations). It's a good idea.
X-Files became a bit boring due to the sheer amount of episodes (20-odd per series, I think). But a film every now and again would keep the fans' interest going.
