As per my last post at the moment. I'm not back in hospital again anyway! ;)

Back in hospital tomorrow for a big needle to be put in my leg to draw off some fluid for testing. I should only be away until Thursday night, Friday at the latest.

Is that just a routine thing, Steve, or have you noticed something amiss?

It was organised at my last outpatients appointment three weeks ago. The inflammatory markers in my blood test a week before that showed there was still infection going on (a score of 31 where 0 to 10 is classed as normal). I came off the antibiotics I'd been on for four weeks a day later, so fully expected it to all kick off again shortly afterwards. Surprisingly, that hasn't happened even though the antibiotics will now be well out of my system. As it happens I had another blood test last week which showed that the inflammatory markers were a little better (25) than the previous blood test, so I'm hoping (possibly unwisely!) that it is going away of it's own accord.

I'm going to try to find out what the situation is whilst I am in - what can be done still, or whether it might go away - whatever they think, as I really want to get back to work. We shall see what they say.

Off in a short while. Might be able to get on the ward computer, but at least this time it will be short stay.

See you soon. :)

All I had done was a big needle in the knee to get some fluid off for testing. The results of that won't come back for 3 weeks. In the mean time I am still relatively in the dark. I'm feeling quite well at the moment though - not perfect, but perhaps 80%, and am having little pain from my leg generally, so maybe things are looking up.
