Re: BBC4 Top of the Pops Repeats
Pete Waterman once said “The only difference between a number one hit and a number two hit is timing” If Parlophone delayed What have I done to deserve this?? by another two weeks, we could have seen their next number one.

‘Rent’ is on next Friday’s episode which is the 22nd October 1987 edition. Quite a different performance for the boys and for me this was the first arrival of Neil’s short hair!!
Its taken me all of my life to find you

Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

The absence of the Smith episodes has accelerated the imperiousness of this run of singles; the Motown harmony of What Have I? has barely receded before we're on to the ice-cool hauteur of Rent, a lost cut from Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.canveyboy wrote: Fri 26 Apr 2019, 11:04 pm ‘Rent’ is on next Friday’s episode which is the 22nd October 1987 edition. The Circus is on the same episode, which is one of my favourite Erasure singles.

Re: BBC4 Top of the Pops Repeats
On last week's live episode, PSB opened the show with the second-highest new entry, and rather unusually, all of the top four singles were shown - T'Pau, Rick Astley, Michael Jackson and PSB. This week, they've moved imperiously past Rick to occupy top spot in the week before Christmas. But can they hold on for that coveted Christmas number one....?

Re: BBC4 Top of the Pops Repeats
Am I correct In thinking that from June 87 to June 88, they had an unbroken run of 52 weeks in the top 75?
