Don't you feel a bit pathetic calling people names? It certainly reads that way. I think you were definitely bullied at school. Probably cos of ur love for erasure.
Your talking like it is some kind of fact that Erasure are releasing their albums because of the PSB Brit when there is absolutely no evidence to back you up apart from your point of view!! Isn't that itself a bit idiotic? I suppose PSB fans would never have been bullied at school!! Your just too predictable!!!
if you were able to read and understand my posts you wouldnt answer with posts that make no sense. You're blind.
I'm the blind one!! try reading your own posts!!

blind or in a minority who is naive enough to think the release hasnt been scheduled as it is for a reason!

Continually you add derogatory remarks. Is that the level I need to stoop to, to deal with the likes of yourself? Not gonna go that low, sorry.

That's OK. It's just a shame we still live in an age where education isn't universal.
Excuse me? I'm well-educated, thank you very much. Coming from a person who thinks Vince and Andy planned to foil PSB's special day by releasing a couple of albums around that time, which, in case you don't know, takes months of planning *by the label* as well.
How long does it take to compile virtually every single a band has released and put them on two CDs?

It takes me minutes. It takes a label a few months counting everything, barring no errors have created delays, in which it could take a few weeks/months more. Then, if the release date lands on a very busy season, it can be pushed later yet.

Come on, chap, you're Mistah Showbiz, after all. You know all this already. 8)

at least no Erasure fans have ever accused Andy Bell of looking like a paedophile (at least to my knowledge)
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Quite funny that, calling somebody blind, somebody giving back that same very remark, and then accuse them of derogatory remarks even adding your not going to go that low!!!! Oh sorry I haven't done it again have I? :?

In case it's slipped your mind, once again, the last five Erasure albums reached 45, 17, 27, 102 and 29, whereas all of the PSBs reached the top ten.

Anything additional that PSB can do to keep their profile at a reasonable level helps, that includes a co-write on the current No.1 album from the biggest girl group in Britain, and, yep, a mere remix for the biggest female singer in the world. Still, at least Cyndi Lauper wanted to work with Erasure so they weren't completely left out on the femme fatale front.
Great stats again and nice try but you've included Union Street which is actually not a studio album but an acoustic album which reached 102, Also you forget the Erasure album released in 1995 that reached 14 and Cowboy released in 1997 that reached 10. Not too bad wouldn't you say?
Oh and Disco 3 reached a fabulous 36 and concrete 61. SO much better than Erasure!!!!!
Funny that you include Union street but leave out Disco 3 and Concrete! Nice Try!!!
Oh and CTH got to 107 and Battleship Potemkin 97 so you might want to make sure you eliminate the PSB side projects from your examples of how much better they chart.
Wouldn't you look at the last two greatest hits chart placings as well? Erasure 15 and the PSB 30. Hardly top 10 there. In fact Erasure were 15 places higher. But does not matter because they didn't remix Madonna!!!!!!
I didn't 'forget' the Erasure album or Cowboy. How are they classed as being in the list of the last five Erasure albums? Are you still failing to grasp basic mathematics yet again?

I was indeed, obviously, talking about regular albums, not compilations, remixes or live sets. How does the fact fact that Union Street was an acoustic album mean it's not a 'studio' album? All the tracks were specifically and newly recorded for said project, most of the songs being previously unknown to the general public, so for all intents and purposes it can be classed as a regular 'new' album - it's not a compilation or a remix album. Now is it?

As I said, EVERY PSB studio album has reached the UK top ten - no mean feat, actually.

C2H is a various artists soundtrack album and is therefore not relevant to this debate, Disco 3 is a remix album with additional tracks that were, in the main, intended for an aborted single, while Battleship Potemkin is kind of an odd one, as though it is a newly recorded piece of work, it was a largely instrumental orchestral score, released under the moniker Tennant/Lowe and not even issued by Parlophone.

But, hey, even though it wasn't promoted by a single (unlike Union Street) it still charted higher than Erasure's aforementioned 'side project' that well and truly took V&A down a dead end.

blind, naive, whatever. Certainly not the same as calling someone an idiot. Had enough of you anyway, its like talking to a brick wall. Is english your first language? If not you could maybe be forgiven.

Union Street was a studio album, as was Other People's Songs and they are two of the most embarressing albums i've ever listened to. There are albums you dont like but these two were just two bob bit efforts. I can't believe that Vince Clarke allowed this to happen.

Union street was an attempt at an acoustic or country and western style of album tracks and b-sides. I wouldn't call it a studio album, never. Just because it was made in a studio! Sorry but they are old songs! Union Street is a compilation of old songs done in an acoustic or country and western style! Unless you are a PSB fan who wants to have a go at the chart placing that is!
I, like most people don't rate this album at all, I think we can all agree on that! I still don't understand why they chose the songs they did but it is something they had wanted to do for a while apparently!

I quite like other people's songs which I also don't see as a studio album, to me a studio album is an album of original or new songs but I suppose you can look at it whichever way you wish. Whatever makes you happy. Yes it is very Electronic, which is nice if you like electronic music. Quite different from Union street it is fair to say.

Erasure have had the outstanding achievement of 5 number 1 albums so I still believe they deserve a Brit!

Well, that is kind of the definition of a studio album.

They've missed the boat for a Brit. If they were to get one, they'd have got it 15 years ago. Erasure have no place in todays music industry and they do not seem able to diversify in any way that would enable them to continue and hence deserve any kind of award. 2004, PSB recieved Q's inspiration award. 5 years later they are awarded the Brits outstanding achievement award. Music press in general seem to think they are still at a high point in their careers and have been for the last 5 years. What Erasure fans dont understand or fail to appreciate is that they are off the radar.

Couldn't agree more. Very well put. Nothing wrong with a strong opinion like the one above. PSB are still getting top 5 albums and top ten singles. Recently produced a fantastic live album with some high profile artists turning out. Concrete was an perfect example of how it's done. Class above. Everything seems to be perfection. no cheap shortcuts with production either and they work with the best because they are the best and well respected.

A Life In Pop for channel 4, was another example of how high a reagard they are held in. They are so highly respected by many, no wonder they are only one of the very few artists to get the Outstanding Contribution, when they are still getting top 5 albums. The outstanding Fundamental also recieved huge acclaim. Now they are working with probably the biggest producers in music right now and the biggest pop act in Girls Aloud. Brilliant stuff
