i tried liking erasure but for me too many of the songs sounded alike per CD and the singers voice while really good always sounded the same on every song.

thats why I love neils vocal production it sounds so different on each song and the songs themselves sound like seperate entities all different.

I also always thought the sounds used on most erasure CD's sounded too oldschool.it seems like all thick analog sounds with bright ringing bell like things.

i feel like I should like them, just like depeche mode ....but I dont.

i also love both bands, wether its right or not they are always going to be linked. Its the same as the beatles and the stones. i just take pleasure in liking the beatles

That's yet another comparison which has no musical validity. The Beatles and The Stones have little in common artistically-speaking. IMO, The Beatles were amazing... I don't like The Stones at all.

Don't tell me, you are the moderator from that Erasure forum who edited posts by a PSB fan because the post contained the number of sales of an Erasure single and because they were low, you deleted it. Comical

Huh? Are you posting this for a laugh? Disco 1 and 3 contained unreleased tracks, as well as extended mixes. Disco 2 however is like Union Street. Both shite. Sorry but Erasure have run out of ideas. Union Street is rubbish and i can only imagine that 'Fractured Fairytales' is a joke because if it isn't, it will be the most embarressing project any band, anywhere, could embark on. I mean what is going to be on this album?

Wasn't it you that said on a previous forum a few years ago that ''Lyrically, Erasure will be mentioned in the same breath as The Beatles, in 30 years time.''

I liked Erasure alot when I was younger. I was at 2 concerts in Stockholm too. 89 and 92? but last 10 years I havn't fancy them a lot. I listen to their album thou

I have numerous times seen Erasure referred to as "a poor man's PSB" by music journos. Not totally untrue either, although I relaly like Erasure.

Oh Undertaker... take a chill pill, lol. I've never said Erasure are *lyrically* equivalent to The Beatles. I believe their songwriting will definately be remembered in 30 years time, however.

Now, you have also completely taken my entire post in a strange way... definately not as it was intended, but that's fine. Firstly, you are wrong, I have never personally deleted anything involving sales figures. The administrator may have, and rightly so, as that forum is connected to Mute Records and they don't allow that sort of thing. If it wasn't, I wouldn't care about posting sales figures... I don't base my love for any group upon how much they sell or don't sell, as I'm sure you don't either. I won't bother going into the other points that you have taken the wrong way, as I don't wish to get into a slinging match with you *again*.

Also, I intend to be much more respectful on the forum of *your* favourite group than you have been on the forum of mine (hence you being banned a few times in a row now).

You can take peace or leave it.

Just what is the problem with Erasure & PSB fans? I don't see the point in argueing although I quite like Erasure, they have run out of ideas and at this point in time have a long way to go before they can catch up with the quality of PSB.

Erasure are OK, like the boys they've made some bad decisions. They've still to write a song which is as bad as The Night I Fell in Love, musically and lyrically, but Bell's lyrics have probably got worse. He was capable of writing some interesting lyrics at one time.

As usual there is never much debate on here regarding this, just a lot of spineless vitriol instead of constructive discussion (which would actually be more interesting to read).

Stop masking the fact that you are an Erasure fan, and your only real gripe is that the Erasure forum booted you off. It can't have been easy.

To be fair, you raised some good points on the E forum, but then they got all defensive. Truth, they couldn't handle it
