Would you like to make a masive petition for Integral ...

It would be pointless releasing Integral now. I originally thought it could get a release because I assumed the tour was planned for earlier in the year but now it's far too late.
Besides, it would probably struggle to make the top 20 in the UK at the moment - the addition of digital downloads (a format that PSB don't sell in) and the subsequent relaxation of the rules towards their inclusion in the UK charts at the start of 2007 has made the singles market more competitive.
Plus, with it being the 4th single from an already dead album, radio stations would almost certainly ignore it - even Radio 2 probably wouldn't A-list it.
In retrospect, Integral should have been the follow-up to I'm With Stupid as, while Minimal is a fantastic tune, its sparse, arty lyrics never really screamed at hit potential.

Passion, love, sex, money, violence, religion, injustice and death. More on that story later.

I know what you mean and I agree with you.TheGardner wrote:it's not on the Pets - it's simply on the record company!
So no petition -regardless how much member it will have- would change anything! The years with four singles from an album are gone!
I suppose the record company is the one to blame for this horrible singles' choice.

Using Liitle Britain for the clip, I'm with stupid was a commercial success.Kris wrote:No it wasn't. It was the biggest hit PSB have had for a decade and helped Fundamental become the biggest-selling PSB studio album for a decade (in the UK at least).Pet Shop Girl wrote:WE all have to realise that Integral will never be a single and that is that. I'm with Stupid was a stupid choice as a single but there you have it!
However from my perspective, it was one of their worst releases ever.

Do you really feel that it hasn't been debated enough? I made a quick search and you alone have started 9 threads about wanting Integral as a single - as well as contributing to countless others. All in all it must have been discussed in 80 different threads.
I like Integral as much as the next person but this is ridiculous. What would be the point of releasing it now anyway? Do you think it will be a big hit?
Perhaps someone from Parlophone can take a glance at this thread & then do the same search you did to find out how much we all think Integral should be a single.
Before I'm with stupid was released the first single was to be Integral (fact). Make up your own conclusions but i believe we WILL see it as a single....."Please please whoever you are from Parlophone".
"We're moving to a situation..."
I'm too weak to be strong
source?. According to the Pets Minimal was to be the first singleActually wrote:Before I'm with stupid was released the first single was to be Integral (fact). Make up your own conclusions but i believe we WILL see it as a single
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

I find that highly unlikely. However, even if we did, it almost certainly won't be noticed by very many people, so what's the point? We already have the song.Actually wrote:Joemoz wrote:I would like to make a petition to stop you and others from starting any more threads about Integral as a single here![]()

Why not start a thread to get "The Survivors" released as single? Or maybe "I want a lover"? Perhaps someone from Parlophone will notice.

Indeed. Minimal was announced for a long time then it was changed to I'm with stupid. Of course Neil and Chris thought Sodom and Gomorrah show should have been the first single.Flaffer wrote:source?. No, the moment has long since passed. EMI would only release a further single from Fundamental if they believed it would help the album to sell significantly. As it is almost a year since Fundamental was released and because Numb did poorly, this is highly unlikely.nickname wrote:Maybe, sending messages to the official site. I know they don't have anything to promote (example: Fundamental). But it woudn't be the first time.
Don't get me wrong; I love Integral, but given EMI's well-publicised financial woes, they are hardly going to spend money on a lost cause.
Prick up your ears.

It would be quite pointless.
This is the correct singles sequence for the Fundamental era:
#1: Fugitive
#2: The Sodom And Gomorrah Show
#3: I'm With Stupid
#4: Integral REMIXED (the album version is too dated)
The ballads on Fundamental are generally brilliant, but none of them are singles.

Why on Earth would Parlophone take any note in what PSB fans think? After all, this is the same panel of experts, who thought that Numb would be a huge hit thanks to being featured in World Cup 2006.
Commercially Fundamental is defunct. Face it. A fourth single from that album now woulkd be a #24 smash, whether it was Integral or God bloody Willing. Fans would buy it and everybody else ignore it as a fourth single from a year-old album.
Besides, 5000 fans dowloading iit would never get it into top 10, not in a million years. The game has changed and charts are now a much harder place for a fan base act like PSB to crack. The forthcoming Erasure single will give us some guidance about a new PSB single would do with the current chart rules. In the current climate 5000 downloads wouldn't most likely be even enough for a place in the top 50.

Raking over old coals again. Fundamental is dead and buried. As brilliant as the album is, it's had it's day commercially.
The only poor single choice was Numb. The chart position proved that. If downloads didn't count, Minimal would have been top 10 and I'm With Stupid - top 5. So they were the correct choices.
