To be honest, I think they've recorded stuff far worse than this. In fact, it's quite a fascinating listen. The chaotic backing track is hilarious, stridently stomping around in a vaguely insane loop, and Neil forgetting to write a lyric to go with it. That said, there's a great melody in there, too, and any throwaway demo that includes the word "recompense" has got to be taken seriously with immediate effect. :D

In The Club Or In The Queue is actually really good. Oh Dear is just a bit of humour. None will ever be released, but I'd shamelessly argue that all are more worthwhile than the po-faced self-importance of Legacy. The sad thing there is we haven't even got Xenomania to blame for that one.

I like this track.

They could make some trashy 80s b-side out of it, if they wanted.

A Powerful Friend peel session is another I'd like see released.

That's Ray Navaira's duo, isn't it? Ray, formerly of this parish.

You see, I think there's buckets of melody in that track - and this version brings some of that out. I might have to look into that Soundcloud group that BlueSwan set up. I thought it'd be full of Victorin covers and Hurts demos, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Yes indeed, but it's not Ray - it's Martina (Ray's partner from Technologic) very old solo demo I found on my harddisk and I though I need to share it with you;-)
Glad u like it.

Oh, I can slag it off so without offending Ray. That's grand.

Drico.

PS I'm currently enjoying the greatest hits of BlueSwan on that site. For bands influenced by Pet Shop Boys, I'm staggered that the legendary Do You Control Your Mind? - the title of the hoax PSB track from Release - isn't on there for our delectation. How more influential can you get? Thank God for BlueSwan's signature link to Bandbase. I maintain they were never the same when they started to take themselves seriously around the second album.

 Our pretentious second album is indeed our worst, but I will say in our defense that it was never meant to be an album - it was just a vanity project.

Anyway, I do intend to upload all of our albums to soundcloud. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Infact, I just removed the link to bandbase in my signature because of the move to soundcloud and because the forum doesn't allow for more than two links in a signature!

As for Ray's project Technologic and Martinas PSB covers - he's uploaded quite a few songs to the "Inspired by Pet Shop Boys" soundcloud page I'm hosting: http://soundcloud.com/groups/inspired-by-pet-shop-boys

When I have a little more time I intend to track down artists on Soundcloud who might be interested in submitting tracks for that group, so if you're interested in PSB related stuff, subscribe to the group.

I ADORE this 2/0 demo and think it's far superior.to the restrained version released. I personally think its the best of all the demos from this pre-fame period, just insane. Just wish it was available in decent quality.
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing
