I wud say Erasure as well. Atleast they are still around and been more or less consistent with their analog bells and whistles ! I dont I would call NO an electronic act. Infact 'Electronic' should have also been included in the poll
Left to my own devices, I probably would...

A slightly biased vote for Depeche Mode. When it comes to influening others, Kraftwerk win this one hands down, but DM have left us a much larger back catalogue of astonishing songs.

Well, that's exactly the reason I would never vote for them. Up until 1992 they were contenders, but since then they have been stuck in a trough the size of Andy Bell's posterior before his recent liposuction.

I watched Erasure's Hits DVD recently and it became very apparent what it actually is that I don't like about Erasure:

Andy Bell's dancing
Andy Bell's face
Andy Bell's flabby arse
Andy Bell's body
Andy Bell's clothes

Shame, as I really do think songs like Drama, Breathe Of Life and A Little Respect are superb singles.

To which I could add:

Andy Bell's voice
Andy Bell's lyrics

Actually, I don't see anything wrong with Andy Bell's voice at all. His lyrics are not in the Tennant's Extra laegue, but then Nelly is not a great singer, is he?

"It´s fundamental that we do only exist in our own universe. When you like Pet Shop Boys, you are in our world. This is absolutely crucial to our entire outlook...what we do has an incredibly strong identity and applies only to us. It´s a case of not recognising the existence of anybody else!". Neil Tennant.

I doubt I'd vote because she would be in the wrong category, not to say she is crap or owt! However, if it were "modern-day female artists" then of course, I'd vote for her!
