I've never quite found another album or group sounding like the first Electronic album. I mean it's obvs a fair bit NO/PSB, not really Smiths. Republic or So Hard/Behaviour b-sides not miles away but they still don't have quite the same sound. Its a bit of a one off unless I've missed a similar sounding band
No, I think you're right there. This melding of the three bands produced something really special. It wouldn't have worked without PSB (I'd even go so far as to say that of the ones on which they don't appear). There are flashes of Electronic scattered around The Smiths songs too, which is probably why I like "Strangeways..." and NO goes without saying since Bernard had basically embraced this style by the time Technique rolled around.
