Is it just me, or this not really well done and could be a potential #1? I personally like it a lot, and think that the arsenal iron is still hot with winning the PL and would get a lot of popularity.

Nobody outside the Arsenal fan base will buy it. The same way that no one outside the Liverpool fan base bought “the anfield rap”.verbow79 wrote: Sun 24 May 2026, 5:31 pm Is it just me, or this not really well done and could be a potential #1? You don't need to be an Arsenal fan, or even like football, or even come from London,to appreciate what an absolutely amazing song this is lyrically and melodically. If this mix was released, I'd definitely buy it. His album, Be Lucky, is stunning.
The future is the present now. Music must be played.

I know times have changed and chart positions are not the be all and end all these days, but the Anfield Rap got to #3 and Come on You Reds got to #1 (I bought it, hem hem, and the sequel, We're Gonna Do It Again, when they did not, in fact, do it again).
Then there's Ossie's Dream, Blue is the Colour, etc etc etc. And, er, Nice One Cyril!!
I really like the song and it is not just about football, and his other stuff is really great, and not really paying attention to football currently, would not have ever heard of him had Chris not posted about it/it hadn't been discussed on here.

You don't normally see PSB comment on social media but there's a little love fest going on in the comments today!DopeFiend wrote: Wed 20 May 2026, 11:52 am Kinda cool. I mean on it's own it's not particularly good, but I love the idea of Chris Lowe having the freedom to hear a song and just knock out a remix of it to put on social media.

Oh wow, that's a heartbreaker, isn't it. Remix it though? You really think they should disco it up?Morse wrote: Wed 20 May 2026, 10:11 am I can't listen to Queer without getting upset - such a good song.
They should have remixed that.
I was listening to Billy Flynn some more earlier and came to the realization that it's about an East End Boy who's also a West End Girl!![]()

Oh yes - they should give it the whole "Losing My Mind" treatment and make a sad song sound banging. They're good at that

Re: PSB remix "Angel" by Louis Dunford
Anyone else find it disappointing when that happens?
Oh there's lots of opportunities if you're related to someone...

I loathe this expression so much. God forbid a person have any actual talent. Do record companies really queue up to sign someone because their mum is on Loose Women?

I think what irks me is these people have "access" to network and equipment that others who are equally or more talented might not.petshopgrrl wrote: Wed 27 May 2026, 6:07 amI loathe this expression so much. Few are the stories these days of completely unknown young-uns slogging it to the top, or simply getting a once in a lifetime break. Who you know is the foot in the door and I've seen it happen first hand as well.

Well... yes, actually. Because there's an enormous amount of free marketing involved in hiring, say, Paris Hilton even if better people are available. That isn't to say Dunford isn't talented, but it's silly to pretend his family relationships didn't open doors for him that weren't available to artists from unknown families, some of whom are equally or even more talented. Connections matter. Nepo babies have them. Normal folks don't. I love Bryce Dallas Howard, but she didn't have to work very hard at all to get her first acting and directing gigs, because her dad is Ron Howard.petshopgrrl wrote: Wed 27 May 2026, 6:07 amI loathe this expression so much. Thanks for starting this thread, I had never heard of Louis Dunford before and having listened to the Chris remix I have really enjoyed some of his music. Bossman is brilliant.

From Belgium, this is the kind of boys' remix that gets a “meh” rating on the first listen, then +2 on the second, +5 on the third, and so on...
Good luck to Arsenal !
