Also there'sBBC's montage of England v Portgual in the 2006 World Cup set to 'Numb' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZByrHy7nrE
I remember this - it was played live on BBC1 after England were knocked out the world cup - they showed a montage with Numb being played over it.
Do you want PSB to take part of football's party?

There are multiple connections between PSB and football. I remember a pic of them in the 80's with a full football team and the name of "Pet Shop Boys" in the football shirt, the video of Dj's Culture with Neil as a referee, Chris like a football fun (like he is) and a football team of dancers and we know the casual connection between Go West and football. Even one Cicero's video has connection.
But maybe this work by Chris is the most clear connection between he, music and football.

The football team they sponsored was Pete A's brother's team iirc. And Pete was a big Arsenal fan hence why Chris got into them I imagine. Or maybe via Dainton who was a a big part of the Arsenal supporters group (arguably hooligan element) . Nice to see him still give the odd shout to Blackpool though

I sometimes wonder if Pete Andreas was an Arsenal hooligan, didn't Neil mention a friend who had come out of prison as being the inspiration for a man could get arrested....or waa it something to do with cottaging in Bedford Sq in Holborn?rathound wrote: Thu 30 Jul 2026, 11:32 am The football team they sponsored was Pete A's brother's team iirc.
