A rock station in Turkey frequently gives news about PSB but never plays a song. I e-mailed them, asking why and they told me that a big portion of their audience loves PSB and is pleased to hear news about them but their songs were outside the criteria the channel was supposed to maintain.
As this station has a really huge audience, a great portion means a considerable size of fans. So where are they? If there is such huge number of fans here why don't other mainstream channels play PSB except the classics, and once in a blue moon, something from Bilingual or Nightlife. When it comes to press, criticism or respectibility, PSB are huge, everyone knows them and their reputation transcends genres. But when it comes to playing their songs on radio, TV channels or clubs or parties, everyone plays three monkeys. Where is the sense in that?
This has been like that since Bilingual (Before was the last song the mainstream channels played to death) I think it is not so different in other parts of the world.
The CELL by Stephen King instantly hit number 1 in New York Times Bookseller Lists selling well over 200 thousand copies in three weeks. This affirms my opinion: People really need an occassional good horror read...
