I like "Like A Drug" a lot, but "The One" is the giant disco stomper megagay hit of 2008.

I didn't know how Irish Kylie was. Just read an article that her dad is Irish (by way of England) and her mom is Welsh.

Dannii, talking about Kylie's resilience after her illness, said, "It's that Irish gene we have, that gives her that resilience".

Just another thing to love about Kylie for me..

2 Hearts - 8/10

Its distinct, catchy and a kylie we've never heard before. I think inspite of better songs, it was a bold choice to present a different style.

like a drug - 8.5/10

A wee dissapointed on this ! The intro to 1st chorus is all shimmery electro pop at its best, but IMO seems to lack that something to give it the oomph to make it total spectacular. Its like taking a delivery of a BMW, only to discover its got a WW-jetta engine

in my arms - 10/10

If it hadnt been for the blessed leak, am sure this would have been lead single 100%. Its a song like Head...which one can only associate with Kylie. Totally infectious, non pseudo lyrics which gets entrenched and is completely singalongable. Pop perfection

speakerphone - 9/10

Kylie - oliver - french - daftpunk ! love the sexy variations within the song, which repeats rather inventively and doesnt get ho-hum as in case of like a drug. Quite experimental if I can say so..

sensitised - 5/10

Hmmm, I'm quite baffled at this Cowboy Style redux of sorts ?! The only saving grace are the vocals ? The Kylie-Cathy combo produced their biggest hit in 'Head', so can anything ever beat that, didnt she learn from the tepid After Dark..so why is she bothering with her ? The 'ou ou' thru the song is as annoying as ants in ure pants

heart beat rock - 6/10

I can imagine a gwen stefani pouncing on this with gusto and bringing the song alive. Quite surprised at the bleepy stripped down production like say 'SLOW', but by the half way mark it sounds a bit plodding

The one - 9/10

I can imagine PSB having produced this lush tragi-disco epic for K ! Totally glorious

no more rain - 10/10

ooh..the tingles and goosebumps it produced on first listen ! kylie's best vocals variations here and the production is fab. Truly the highlight of X

stars - 9/10

love love this ! Reminds me of tightrope, under the influence etc which really suit kylie. May not spring at you immediately, but still a solid song..

all I see - 7/10

found it hard to believe its kylie. but once over the janet sized suprise, its quite a decent listen, Kylie's vocals are really cool, but overall a been there-heard that feel

nudity - 9/10

LOL ! so this is kylie's penis song. Its nice to see Kylie channeling her inner missy elliot and having a sexy riot...with the elephantine trumpeting and whoops for good measure ! off to the Billboard charts immediately..

WOW - 8.5/10

ofcourse, finally the big faggy, arms in the air-carnival production with pink glitter flying and smiles everywhere ! Only Kylie can getaway with this cheese hamper! but still its a slightly less prettier twin of the glorious 'love at first sight', but if u dont move to this, ure pretty much like leg-less

cosmic - 10/10

What I'd give to hear more such numbers from kylie. Everything from the dreamy vocals, the lazy beats in the intro, the lyrics..its A+ and a grower. Easily her best album closer since Dreams and Burning Up

Its quite varied like Lightyears, but a lot sleeker for sure. Frankly I dont think Kylie is ever gonna surpass this, so its pointless waiting for IP part 2 only to be called pseudo. I suppose I'll eventually learn to live with sensitised and heart beat rock, but there are no truly 'skip worthy' dire moments like please stay, dancefloor, give it to me, promises, after dark..which marred her previous Parlo LPs.

With X, she's proved that a cosmic, no more rain is still possible within her. I just find it funny that people are expecting her to be the next dylan lyrically and I'm not sure what is groundbreaking and original POP in 2007 anymore ? anything anyone does is going to be a throwback to their previous best work or some influence from the 40s to the 00s. She might have seemed to play it safe, but none of X is mediocore or lazy and I'm glad for that. IMO its her best Parlo album period and a glorious return to pop

She should insist on No more rain or Cosmic as one of the singles, In my arms and wow are single worthy material anyway..
