Wow, what a way to wake up! This is how you do an album announcement Anyone in the US try to order the CD single? Can't find it on the US site Is it available anywhere else, or should I just try through the UK site? Sorry if this has been discussed already.

Loneliness - Interesting opening that declines quickly into a rather banal verse and mediocre first half. Fortunately the album version bursts into life from around 3 mins and the second half is a quintessential PSB mix of beats, baseline and orchestra. Bravo!

Won't ever listen to the radio edit again, but it's a lovely cross between monkey business, requiem in denim and leopard skin, Before and Leaving. And a reminder of how important horns are to the PSB sound.

All three songs are refreshingly elliptical, oblique, rather like their early b-sides. It's not easy to hear or make sense of the lyrics on first or third listen, and that's nice.

I still don't get (or even properly hear) the single lyrics... but as you say... it might mean it's more rewarding longer term.

Getting into the radio edit now... sounds very different to the album version... will be getting the CD single.

Given there's more than two months between the single release on 16th February and the album on 26th April, is there time for another pre-album single, early to mid-April?

That reminds me. The photo they released last week from a video shoot bears no resemblance to the Loneliness video. So, one assumes another single release is likely in the near future..

I really hope it's an Aleister Crowley reference, can't get enough of that man's hypnotic chanting appearing as samples in songs (like here or here)

Loneliness is not a bad song if you listen to the full version with the strings but it's not particulary good if this is the main song of the album.

The chorus is not very creative.
