Anyway as that's off this topic, just to say how much I greatly enjoyed being able to attend the Guardian event in person and meeting my Pethead friends once more!

Enjoyable night all in all. Album playthrough was utterly pointless as the acoustics meant the sound was dreadful and people just talked throughout anyway.

Interview with Jon Savage was quite interesting, although by now we've heard the same stuff many times already. The Q and A was fun, and they had a nice rapport with the audience.

A few tidbits...

Chris Google-translated the lyrics of Schalger into German to help him write suitable music, and recorded a demo with him singing them. It might see the light of day at some point.

Disco 5 is a possibility, maybe next year, and will probably be remixes of other people's music.

They're announcing on Wednesday that there'll be a DJ as the support for the UK shows. I didn't catch who it was.

The Naked musical includes lots of "pop songs".

Good night after a long queue and met some lovely folks in the crowd. My friend has seen Gary Numan over 80 times and said he has never been in such a friendly queue.
I thought sound quality was OK but was quite close to a speaker and the venue was stunning.

Opening proceedings, Christopher Pressler from the Rylands library told an emotional story about blasting Left to My Own Devices from a speaker from a bedroom in east Belfast as a teenager, as a way of protesting a Twelfth of July parade in the street and spoke to how Introspective helped he and his friend escape into their own world away from the conflict of the 80s and 90s in Northern Ireland.

Johnny Marr was there (didn't see him). Jon Savage was 'the party animal' in Left to my own devices. I didn't know that, apologies if that's old hat.

Re the DJ, I don't know if I should say much before the big reveal, but expect some bangers!

Chris looked much more at ease than on Monday and was hilarious as ever. Neil beautifully verbose, he has the patter down to a tee, then Chris chips in two words and brings the house down

I got a question asked on Monday and I couldn't really think of anything decent and I knew my country accent would go all starstruck and wobbly in person. Anyone would think I do this for a living. There were some fun questions and the last one was in a suitably silly Smash Hits style.
