Yes, he did look class but the other guy didn't put any pressure on him which allowed him to play without fear. Ronnie is really up against it this morning.

Well last two frames and we are back the the usual unplayable Ronnie. Nothing you can really do about that. Great match played by Joe Perry.

For some reason we missed out on last year's tournament here - but we're off and running at The Crucible again tomorrow.

I suspect The Captain will have too much for the defending champion tomorrow, and the curse will strike again, but Carter v. Bingham is a cracking match to start us off.

I make Robertson favourite, but it's wide open, really.

Great game last night between Ballrun and The captain. Not a great standard but tense. Really shocked to see Murphy and Maguire go out. O'Sullivan was his effortless self.

I'd really love to see Ding win it but dont think he has the mentality.

Well, there goes Robertson. He tanked the last time I tipped him too. I'm switching to John Higgins now - but only if he beats Rickie Walden in Round 2. If he wins that, he'll probably play The Captain in the last eight and I fancy him to go deep into the tournament then.

Selby's "personal reasons" make it hard to judge his chances, but he's a fantastic match player and I hope he makes it through for a rematch with Ronnie in the semis. I love Ronnie, but I enjoy watching him cope with The Torturer. If he can deal with Selby, he deserves the title.

Selby put on a masterclass tonight on how to derail the momentum of your opponent. To be fair to Ding, he accepts the challenge and grits his teeth, but that extra 40-minute slog forcing Ding to defend snookers was a masterstroke of matchplay pacing. It completely broke his rhythm.

If Ding wins this title, he'll be a brilliant champion. Selby puts you on the rack and squeezes the life out of you. Ronnie couldn't cope with it, and I doubt Ding will now that it's 10-7 overnight. This one could be very close yet, but even if Ding gets level, which I think he might, Selby has dropped anchor and is in it for the long haul now. It's all very well people knocking balls in off the lampshade, but if you can't win a safety exchange or can be forced into error, then you're not all that - as Judd Trump has found to his cost.

Well Selby wins again playing his B game but when it comes to the psychological part of Snooker, he is up there with Steve Davis and Ray Reardon. Unbelievable powers of concentration and desire. Treats every single shot, frame and match with the same determination.

It wasnt a great spectacle, although i missed the last session due to watching Chelsea getting booted all over the park but hopefully Ding and Fu's run will popularise the game to new heights and we might get a decent computer game!

I do find it strange how they say all of China loves the sport, then when they have all those tournaments there, no sod is watching.
