I'd be interested to know how much income sales like this actually generated for Neil and Chris. They presumably still get quite a healthy income from royalties, and back catalogue sales?

I always see reports about big artists earning millions from touring and I'd be interested to know how this works for our Pets.

Billboard is publishing income from concerts. One of the Electric concerts had a revenue of 384,000 $. I think you will be able to get the info from the others if you try hard enough. Discography is a constant trickle seller for them selling in the region of 18,000 in the U.S alone each year.

Electric is up to #41 in the Independent album chart, this week, it has spent 13 weeks in the Top 50, and has been in the Top 100 ever since it was released. In the overall chart it is around #220. Sales, about 1600 copies. If it continues to do well in the next two weeks, it could pass the 40,000 mark before the new year.

It's worth saying that revenue from concerts goes to the promoters, the artists usually get a fixed fee, with the promoter of the tour taking on the risks of venue hire and promotion cost. I believe their fee is approx £120,000 per show. How expenses for the 20+ people and all the tour logistics get paid I'm not sure.

Although I've always wondered why they bothered with a promoter for touring, they have a loyal fanbase across the world, why not just cut out the middleman (at least for the US and Europe) and keep all the revenue yourself?

Electric up from #41 to 40 in the Independent album chart 22 weeks in the Top 100. Sales will most likely be higher than last week. There is a very good chance now that it will pass 40k before the end of the year. All the excellent reviews most be paying of.

According to this, the Geoff Stephen's track "Crying Game" sang by Boy George and produced by PSB was #1 in Canada:

I have read somewhere that Sting earns 2,000 dollars a day from Every time You Breath royalty/ copyrights only. So there must be some PSB classics playing over and over in radios. Do they not bring any income? I mean if a PSB song (though how rarely it is) is played in a Turkish radio station, do they pay any royalty to the Boys?

If the Pop Kids would have been number 44 from sales and downloads, it means it sold around 11,800. Now thats some going and is the third highest selling single in the past 10 years. Only Im With Stupid and Love etc are above it. I'm not convinced it would have been 44 though.

How is that possible? If that was the case it would actually BE #44 in the UK charts, wouldn't it? Even with zero streaming points.

I dont know. Which is why i said i'm not convinced. I took the sales as an average from the singles chart before streaming counted and the sales are usually around that for #44. The unit figures now are not much different from when streams counted. So to be #44 and then not to be top 100 seems complete bollocks to me. Either #44 is completely wrong or the cd sales werent eligible.

*edit* or streaming has completely taken over the charts. 79% of streams make up the singles chart. Complete madness. So its highly likely The Pop Kids wouldnt have been anywhere near 44 because if streaming didnt count, the songs below it would have highly likely have sold more anyway.

At buzzjack they clearly said TPK would have been #44 if it still was only physicals + downloads.
But since streaming is extremely dominant these days (at least as far as the singles chart is concerned) it unfortunately is possible that it still didn't make the top 100 due to the lack of streams. Seems crazy but I guess that's what it is.
