New BBC 'imagine...' documentary on Pet Shop Boys confirmed for Spring 2024

Do you have an idea how to create subtitles to the documentary? I downloaded the file, but I need some subtitles to share it with my friends who are less fluent in English. I would also prefer to watch it with subtitles because it would be easier to understand some fast delivered comments or some slang expressions.

Any help appreciated

Slang expressions and pharsal verbs are the most difficult things to learn for people who don't have English like their first language.

I’m English and I had to play it twice to get it. The gist of it is that they didn’t tour for years because they didn’t know how to play live. They wanted it to sound like the records.

Finally got to see it. Couple observations.

Olly says they are both gay. Surprised that made it in. Chris has said his sexuality is no ones business. I agree. He must have said OK to that comment being in there.

He doesn't explicitly say that Chris is gay, but "they were gay" in referring to the band. He could absolutely be spilling the beans (would any of us be surprised?) or could be referring to them as a "gay band" because of Neil. If the former, agree that it would be a bit surprising that PSB allowed it to go through as I'm not sure this is the way Chris would want people to know or have the belief confirmed.

Still not able to watch in US on bbc player, even with Uk vpn. Somehow it still detects as US

I found it after another poster mentioned trying search engines other than google. it should take you directly to the video... if not... on the main page type "pet shop boys imagine" in the search on the face page of the site.

Same here, don't have a clue what to do. It does not turn up on the usual torrent sites or YouTube and non-Google search engines only take me to the BBC iPlayer and other sites advertising the documentary

Depends on what file you have. The .ts file I made has the subtitles as a stream. VLC can play these, there's stream called "subtitles for the hearing impaired" which works fine.

I didn't really hear/noticed it when watching so I'm not sure "the general public" would have taken much notice either way?

Not that it matters, but think Chris is bi, he has dropped hints of that.
