How easy is for some people to talk about homophobia. I have NOTHING against gay people. Homofobia?, why?. I have nothing against these performances but I don't like it.
I like a lot of things related to PSB but not all. Is it homophobia?, of course not. And I KNOW a lot of psb fans who think like me because I have spoken with a lot of them about it.

I remember Neil suggesting that the performance of one rap singer on the Brits (I don't remember his name) with semi-naked women could be SEXIST. I know he wouldn't have said anything if they had been boys. Well!, it's his opinion and his point of view and I have a different point of view, there is nothing wrong with that but some people can't understand it ..... or maybe they don't want

Liked those pics. And I love all their tours on DVD - Performance, Montage and Discovery. I love Highlights too (though they're still not released on DVD:() so I don't even worry because Neil and Chris always pick up talented people to work with

In his defence, Nickname, is probably saying that sometimes the Boys can be a bit tacky, irrespective of whether it's men OR women who are represented. I think the boys were more interesting when they were ambiguous.

There's nothing homophobic about saying something's tacky or naff. Most of us hate TNIFIL for example, and Closer to Heaven. The whole premise of the song, the production, the lyrics, the music, are all just embarassing in every way there is.

So cool the 'oh aren't we offended' police. It's simple to play the homophobic card just because someone thinks the idea and practice of cavorting semi-naked men in a cage is criticised. They had to have men as well as women so it wouldn't be seen as sexist. In either way it was still just a naff idea. What's erotic, less empty, or profound about apeing, nothing more than a pole dancing, lap dancing club?

This stuff is still naff in 2006 when 50 cent and his cronies do the same type of thing.

For all I care the Boys can do what they like but if doesn't actually add anything to the product then you sort of think what's the point.

For me, the Discovery show worked on the whole. So, more than anything, it would only be boring if they repeated themselves.

The Kayne West thing has shown us that artists, directors, producers, etc still think it's cool and naughty to use semi-naked bodies as gimmicks. It's basically a 1960s idea, that lost it's appeal shortly after the summer of love. As I said, it's not that things like this are shocking or endearing anymore, they're just boring, and have been for a long time. Move on.

I prefer shows for all kind of public. For example, things like the "discovery tour" are very embarrasing (at least for heterosexual people).

i had nothing against the discovery tour as it was VERY psb so 100% apprioate it wasnt gay at all hence the women...

He didnt say it was tacky or naff. He said 'a gay show'

and then went on to say heterosexuals don't like it.

So the issue of sexuality was introduced by nickname, not the tackiness of the show. Therefore, there is a hint of homophobia in his remarks and its 'not playing the homophobic card'. it's simplying pointing an offensive remark.

As for Neil saying Kayne West's show was 'sexist', he said no such thing. He said something like 'years ago it might have been CONSIDERED sexist'

Anyway, Im sure isn't a homophobe....just ignorant of the language that can offend.......

I find it remarkable that people who generally laugh at, ridicule, and lampoon Nickname can all of a sudden take umbrage at one of his typically profound and grave pronouncements.

So, he doesn't like what he terms a "gay show" and thinks that such events are embarrassing for heterosexuals. While that opinion may be questionable, it hardly amounts to homophobia - a hint or otherwise.

It's far more offensive to hear people who would consider themselves liberal and pluralist tar people who make clumsy statements in a tongue that is not their own. Since when were Nickname's posts taken so seriously? Perhaps I missed something in the translation and he's really the sage of this forum underneath the layers of Spanglish inanity.

Anyway, Nickname, you will be pleased to know that the PSBs have decided to tour in the Lollapalooza style with numerous gay "artists" this year. It's called Wotaloadapooftas and will be mincing its way across the yellow brick roads of the USA this summer. It happened before (well, nearly).

I did say probably, meaning he was 'implying'. Of course Nickname said gay show but as Drico said his/her (I'm still convinced we're dealing with a spanish girl) English isn't too good. I don't think Nickname was homophobic. Sheltered, ignorant, maybe, but not anti-gay.
