I don't think Disco 2 was that bad an idea ... I just didnt care much for the "Very" remixes .... might have worked better with older remixes maybe?

Maybe Disco 2 should have looked something more like this...

1. Go West (Mark Stent 12")
2. I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing (Voxigen Mix)
3. So Hard (David Morales 12")
4. Left To My Own Devices (Shep's 12")
5. Always On My Mind (Shep's 12")
6. Euroboy
7. Absolutely Fabulous
8. Where The Streets Have No Name (Extended Mix)

Full versions - not some crap megamix.

I'm sure a better tracklisting is possible... I'm just giving a feel of what it could have looked like... and none of it would have been widely released on CD at the time... and "Absolutely Fabulous" could have been the "single" from it.

The one PSB album I never bought. Actually, when you think about it, 1994 was an appalling PSB year in so many ways, their annus horribilis, if you will.

After the commercial resurgence and intoxicating creative high of 1993, the year of Can You Forgive Her?, Go West, Very Relentless, and PSB Day on Radio 1, '94 gave us Liberation, E-Smoove, Absolutely Fabulous, Yesterday When I Was Mad, and Disco 2 - a remarkable fall from grace by any standards. There was a certain lunacy about the PSB at this time, a "throw it all to the winds" attitude that was reflected in the videos and costumes too. After the possibilities provided by Very, 1994 was a huge missed opportunity.

In 1994, they probably thought they could get away with anything.

Disco 2 proves that 99% of their remixes are shocking. They should either remix the songs themselves, or pay a lot of money to someone who knows what they are doing. Minimal was the latest song to produce piss poor efforts.

not all 1994 was appalling....you forgot 'Alternative' & 'Discovery' - two class releases on the same day, now that was a good day and we'll have that again next month with the live album & DVD!!

But they could have been forward thinking. Like magazines. For instance the October issue of Q came out on the last day of August.
