Never been to Madison Square Gardens before.

Can anyone advise on best seats for a couple of not so tall peeps like me and the Mrs? I'd love floor seats but I know that everyone will just stand up once the first banger is played and we'll end up seeing nothing but the backs of heads all evening.

I see that MSG have riser seats - that could be an option but any advice appreciated so I can plan.

Mixed feelings.
- Never been a big fan of New Order. Tried but I just couldn't get into them but I look forward to heard BLT and a few others live.
- My last PSB show had me sitting next to two complete assholes who wouldn't stop talking so I was planning on springing for the Meet and Greet just so I could get decent seats and be with other true fans.
- The venue in Chicago doesn't have stadium seating unless you're way back and at an angle. I'm too old to be standing for five hours at a concert! I'm not sure where I'll try to get tickets for. I just know if I don't go I'll regret it.

The poster just looks weird to me. It should be

When NO had their own gig at Bud Stage, it sold out pretty fast. This will be sold out ridiculously quickly.

Why would they use a Pet Shop Boys’ font from 18 years ago? Unless it reflects the type of live performance it’s going to be.

The fact it's happening at all is something to celebrate.

I think PSB as an opener for New Order in Toronto is spot on - the Boys are definitely the lesser known/appreciated of the two in Canada, but it'll be great exposure for them for the uninitiated.

They've effectively toured together before in 2009 when Bad Lieutenant supported PSB, just Gilliam Gilbert missing and Hooky had long gone. They did a few Bad Lieutenant numbers then a slew of Joy Division and New Order stuff. The hipsters of course stopped in the foyer too cool to watch the support act and missed a genuine treat. The only downside was they didn't do the Electronic stuff, that would have been a dream come true.

I remember they did play Tighten Up, but you’re right, the two bands didn’t play together.

Yes I believe at Dodgers Stadium in 1990. The PSB also played with them but it was billed as Electronic.

That’s what I was thinking, a Release style back to basics show, rather than a full on Electric/Super style show. Having said that, now that I’ve thought about it some more I think these shows will be a subset of the Dreamworld show, for the simple reason that I don’t think the boys have the bandwidth and resources etc. to handle two distinct types of live show simultaneously. They tend to come up with a format then tour it for a few years.

I see lots of first/second tours from electronic bands with far fewer resources than PSB and they all can manage dynamic, exciting, shows. I don’t see the challenge. Yes, I agree, it’s been their MO to put together a performance and beat it into the ground, but I’m hoping touring with the (slightly) looser New Order will inspire them to be less rigid.
