cool. great to hear updated news about this.

it will be a smaller size, but much more content, which is great.

Great news, and also interesting to note:” Newly reconfigured into a literary format, this revised and expanded edition now chronicles the entire visual output of Pet Shop Boys from 1984 to 2024” so I assume it will include the new album artwork and maybe coincide with its release.

volume isn't specific enough.

Wouldn't mind a complete book like this, PSB Archives, this Star Wars one held by the author is £130ish but a ultimate coffee table book.
The price is high but you see plenty of fans spending more probably on every variant, coloured vinyl of Smash.Image

If it's April 2024 then it won't feature the new album. It'll be everything up to Lost.

I wonder what literary format means for Catalogue, as it was a visual project above anything else.

Glad that it will cover up until 2024, probably including the cover artwork for the next album, which should be out around the same time as Volume.

The listing on the publisher website says it covers their output to 2024. So something from 2024 should be included. If the album is done and dusted now then maybe the sleeve design and title are also known. On the other hand, the publication date might be wrong and it actually comes out later in 2024.

The same publishers are putting out a book of visual/text commentary on Pulp's This Is Hardcore (one of Neil's favourite records of 1998) era later this year.

I think they'll be drawing a line between everything up to Smash and everything after. April 84-April 24. New album new era.

That Taschen 'Star Wars Archives' book was re-released this year for Taschen's 40th anniversary in the same size as this new PSB book and it works really well for the size. So I'd have no worries about how it's going to look.

i do worry about the size.

because you're getting much less detail on a smaller page.

the original had nice large ones. i scanned most of the book.
(have to get back to that).

this size doesn't really let you see. but anyways i'll still get it.

and then i can compare the earlier portions of both.
