Exciting news!

PSB should go shameless and ask EMI to support its second single as 'official England team hymn' in Germany next summer. Even better, the 2nd single being the 'official' theme for the football World Cup. A la New Order/R.Martin.

Oh yeah. Absolutely shameless...  But is the way to go.

I can just see the England boys singing along to some hi-NRG tune by a couple of old queens.

They probably have little say in the choice of release date - the marketing / distribution people at EMI / Parlophone probably control this.

Five months and counting...........

I would be curious to find out what happened to the Boys album Neil told us a year ago that he had put on his ipod!

And its a shame to miss out on all the dancefloor fever and 70's & 80's retro stuff that will no doubt float around as a result of Mad's album.

Anyway, the April release is no doubt something to do with the tour as well......You can't release the album now and decide to tour in six/seven months time!
And you say you never believed in luck

That's what I wonder. Neil told us in Q&A about two years ago that they'd written some songs and he loves the lyrics. But where atre these songs if they wrote new ones in January?

this is really exciting news but i think we should temper our enthusiasm regarding the tour; as we all know, the days of the full on productions are long gone - what we have to look forward to with this album are 'release' type venues and staging. they'd struggle to sell out wembley arena.

i don't mind what they do, as long as i get to see them as many times as possible.

...but if "Jump" really is the third single from "confessions on a dance floor" it will be realesed around march/april...so this could be a good timing after all. A new album and Madonna going "West end girls"...could do it.

Do you think that really ??? Do you know how much work it is to PREPARE A LIVE CONCERT ??? I think they are searching singers, dancers and composing new versions of old hits to perform them after april in a new tour.
well I meant the songs. they are recorded and pretty much are on hold till its released and only a select few her them. :)

Actually, securing an April release date is a strong show of support by EMI. Not as good as getting an Autumn release to cash in on the Holiday buying frenzy but way better than being shunted aside into the 1st 3 months of the year when the labels release lackluster product, if anything at all. Any act worth it's keep gets one of these 2 prime slots.
PSB have released 14 albums and the 1st 12 -- Please thru Release -- all went Top 20 in the UK. And all of them were either released in:

Autumn ( Sept, Oct, Nov ) __ Disco, Actually, Introspective, Behavior, Discography, Very, Disco 2, Bilingual & Nightlife. Alternative roughly falls into this category, too, with an Aug release.

Spring ( April, May, June ) __ Please & Release

Disco 3 came out in Feb & only reached 36. PopArt came out in Dec but only reached 30, so it is the exception to the rule.

Why tinker with success ?
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...

Yeah it will cover everything the boys have ever done, from single sleeves, album covers, posters, publicity photos right through to every T-shirt design and so on etc.
You don't have to be beautiful, but it helps!
