Re: Pet Shop Boys - Volume
Mine’s on my doorstep. Got there yesterday. I, however, am nowhere near my doorstep and will not be till laterrrrr… till later tonight, so I hope the porch pirates aren’t tempted.
Or if they are, I hope they enjoy a jolly good read and get themselves some new taste in music!

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Volume
Got home tonight to find my copy STILL on my doorstep (what, no porch pirate wants to steal this girthy tome?!) and have been looking through it for the last couple of hours. Thought I recognized your name so I’m glad I found this post! They are great pictures! How cool that they asked to use them!Remark wrote: Thu 02 Apr 2026, 8:46 am Just received my limited edition copy (698/750!) and am very impressed with the quality and content. Will have a proper look through this weekend. And even more exciting, my photos were used on pages 329 (Fundamental tour) and 403 (Electric tour)!!! So thrilled that PSB Management contacted me to utilise them, and to see my name next to Es Devlin in the credits (the very last page of the book). Well chuffed!![]()

I'm glad you're already holding it in your hands. In my case, Amazon tells me that it will send an email when it has an estimated delivery date. I bought it in pre-sale and I don't understand how it doesn't have a delivery date yet. I hope that even if it takes time, there will come a day

It’s a great book and even better that I managed to get it for £20.
There are a few minor grumbles such as the lack of How can you expect to be taken seriously?? (The focus is WTSHNNICTMEOOY), some promo releases merged with others (Truck Driver & His Mate) or left out (It always Comes As A Surprise) but on the whole nicely done.

There should be some reason they really hate How can you expect to be taken seriously? !E-Mail Vampire wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 5:43 am It’s a great book and even better that I managed to get it for £20.

It's essentially because they became a lot of the things it criticises.SunMoon wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 12:35 pm

Received my book in NZ on Thursday evening. A little beaten about the edges, which is a slight shame given it's such a handsome book - but what do you expect when it's travelled a few thousand miles?
Really liked the interview at the back of the book. Very relaxed in tone and quite open and honest. Enjoyed Chris Heath and Neil's slightly challenging comments with Chris about his supposed life aspirations and the reality that's transpired.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I must say from what I'm reading here it may be a disappointment. If it purports to be "the complete visual record" then why are several images missing from each release? It strikes me that Catalogue was the complete visual record, up to 2006 and that a better move would have been Catalogue 2 in the same format.

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Volume
I agree. I did get the limited edition and I love how it looks and it’s fun to read, but I think it is much too small — at this price I would expect a coffe-table book with large photos. I’m very interested in graphic design and I have quite a large collection of such books from Volume, Unit Editions and such and I don’t mind paying a premium price for them, but I expect them to be large enough for the contents to really shine. Volume is much to small for this, in my opinion.daveid wrote: Sat 11 Apr 2026, 11:14 am Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I must say from what I'm reading here it may be a disappointment. I don’t regret buying it, I really enjoy reading it and I knew how small it would be, but I think it was a bit of a missed opportunity. I would have preferred a larger-format Catalogue #2 with all photos along with a new edition of Catalouge #1 in the same format (but the same contents as the original edition)
That way, some of us with the old Catalogue could buy just #2, or choose to but both #2 and the new edition of #1 if we are willing to spend some more money in order to get a cohesive set. Maybe a limited edition box set with both #1 and #2, like they did with Literally and PSB vs America some years ago.

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Volume
it's far from "The complete visual record" it says it is. Catalogue was more thorough. So many release artworks are missing from Volume that it's almost pointlessdaveid wrote: Sat 11 Apr 2026, 11:14 am Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I must say from what I'm reading here it may be a disappointment. Volume should have been the size of this Taschen Star Wars Archives book to fit all the content in.
