Saw 2 films at the cinema today, Kickass 2 and 2Guns. I highly recommend both films if you like that genre.

On Saturday, I came back from the first real vacations in my life. I went to Mexico. It was a week full of first times. My first time outside my country in 10 years (and only the second time), my first plane trip, first time I climbed and went inside pyramids! It was a very beautiful and exciting trip...but of course, I couldn't forget about PSB...

How does one overcome a depressing day/week at work. :(

I've done a post-graduation, pursuing my second one via a distance course. Have 5 years of work-experience.
And I'm utterly disappointed with the work I am doing. Is it too much to feel depressed with work when 27?

Am trying to list out ideas to follow up for ventures, but even that needs some dedicated time.
Thinking of taking a few weeks/months off to re-evaluate my path, but I hear it's suicidal in India where they look at non-educational breaks with disgust.

Hows work at your end fellow Petheads?

Hi Vince,

This may not be applicable to you, but I hope you dont mind me mentioning.

This reply is for everyone.

Everyone needs to be carefull about the scenario of having a good job,
but being unhappy deeper down, often because relationships are not working.

I had a great job in IT for many years, but little time for life and hence relationships
never blossomed. I used to tell everyone things were great, money travel, toys.
But deep down I wasnt and there was no resolution over time and huge work
pressure and stress. (Well paid jobs always come with that).

This leads to depression. You may notice you get angry easy such as driving
in bad traffic. You may not be sleeping well or you get stress or anxiety moments.

If this may be you, talk to your doctor. An course of anti-depressants can be
a good thing. But aim not to be on them permanently.

In my case, it turned out I was developing a disease that physically effects the
brain and causes a little depression and anxiety. So there is no great embarressment
for me to mention here.

HTH some.

Started seeing a shrink 2.5 years ago after a decade of unhappiness, drinking, etc.
2.5 years on I'm much happier: stress is mostly gone, career going better, marriage good, etc. Getting professional help was the best move I ever made and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is unhappy. No shame in seeking help, rather it's shameful to live in misery, especially as it's unnecessary.

Hey Galata,

So sorry to hear. I lost my father 18 months ago.

I know it is a very hard time.

Take care.
