You can not have 2 attacking midfielders at International level in a 4-4-2. Everyone can see it hasn't worked. Steven Gerrard is head and shoulders a better player than Lampard.

Lamps is one of England's best players...and steven gerrard is nowhere near head and shoulders better than lamps.

It would take a very brave manager to leave one of them out, shame maclaren isnt given "permission" from the FA and media to do that.

The thought of any "British" club winning the Champions League makes me feel sick. Donny winning the Johnstone Paint Trophy last week was a bigger feat than any of the parasites of the Premiership getting their grubby fingers on the Champions League.

I disagree. Its as easy for dony to win the JPT, as it is man utd winning the CL. Just like, its as easy for dony to beat yeovil, as it is everton to beat liverpool.

Wouldn't it be great if all 92 clubs had identical resources.

Lower league football just isn't on my radar I'm afraid.

I pay almost as much attention to the 2 lower divisions as i do the prem. I take very little interest in the CL.

You mean two. 1991 Cup-Winners Cup as well. I still remember that game, Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce were immense that night - as was the late Les Sealey.

Doh! I meant to write european cup. I remember the cup winners cup final as well, seems a lifetime ago. I might be wrong but wasn't that the first season that english clubs bar liverpool were allowed back into europe ?

He's defintately injured. Couldn't you tell by his face when he was sat on the bench against Andorra. Or the 'alledged' rage when he tried to fly home before the game. Throw into that, the fact he has played three 90 minute matches for Chelsea ever since the incident, it's obvious he's injured.

Even the Chelsea fans were getting on his back yesterday. he still insists on shooting with every free kick and corner. No technique at all, just run up and blast the ball.

There is something that has been creeping into football over the past few years and i don't know if it's just with English fans. The problem with fighting at matches seemed to have dissapeared apart from the odd few idiots but now it seems the problem is with the police.

It seems that an English club are coming, lets batter them and have a right night of it. I've seen it twice with Man Utd this season and on Thursday night with Spurs. I first noticed it a few years ago when Wales visited Italy.

I know a few people who went to Seville on Thursday night and they said it was anarchy. Fans were told to sit anywhere in the stands, which ended up blocking aisles. The police even waded in and whacked Stewards. One nine year old fan tried taking a picture with his phone and got it snatched off him and got a baton around his ribs for his troubles.

So is this jut the police attacking Brits, or is it a European thing?

Oh there are other reasons for sure and it's almost impossible for a club like Blackpool to be challenging the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool etc. With a population of 150,000 the best we can hope for is to be in the Championship like PNE and Burnley are (2 clubs with great historys but in 2007 some way off the big boys). Bolton and Blackburn give us all hope though.

The Championship is turning into a fantastic league. Anything can happen. Sunderland looked like relegation candididates in October, now they look like they are going up. QPR were down last month and are almost safe. Luton looked a decent team in 2006 but are going down and has to be one of the worst run clubs around and Leeds look like they are staying up. Colcheste rhave probably sent Southend down and what about Birmingham v Burnley as the weekends coupon buster.

Yes it was. I think Liverpool were back the following year. Although, I have a funny feeling that Man Utd may have been the ONLY English club allowed back in that year. Especially as the Cup Winners Cup was seen as the third ranked competition to play in.

The police on the continent are scum. Although I don't condone football violence, good on the Spurs fans for giving some back at them. The behaviour at English grounds now is far and away better than at continental stadia. The police should sort their own fans out first.

Yes Rangers look safe - two wins in a week (and they should beat Luton today) have made a huge difference. I still think Leeds are vulnerable though Barnsley, Southend and Luton all look piss poor at the moment.

Keane's done an incredible job at Sunderland and must be the favourite to succeed Ferguson at United.
