Not quite sure what he’s thinking with this one.
His mixes are usually top notch
Not every track needs a trance/house/dance remix

A good old fashioned extended version is the preferred route with ANB

I am in love with "I've Got Plans" from the whole set.

People here sometimes criticise some fans who remain stuck in 80s. Sometimes I am stuck, too. I cannot ignore it..They never topped the first three albums and will probably never.

The following Youtube comment describes what I feel in the most precise and sincere way. It is about "I've Got Plans":

"Quintessentially PSB. Back in the golden times when with those soundscapes they had the whole wide world in their hands. No one else, possibly nothing else like them. They are still going strong nowadays, but a tune like this - "the sound of those old machines", anyone? - sets the magic of an era with a sort of scientific thoroughness, and it transfixes me with an unfathomable nostalgia."

Yep, nailed it. Been listening to some old PSB today and it's just as exciting and fresh now as it's ever been. The tracks on Nonetheless are nothing like them ( yes, even Dancing Star)

I totally agree about Ive Got Plans.
I circled back to Alternative and classic 80s PSB which still sounds exciting to me.

For me, another "later" song that captures that exiting atmosphere is Hit and Miss...You feel "how majestic, how special, how unique they were" as soon as the first note strikes.

I agree - I've got plans (involving you) is astonishingly good. It's thrilling and teeters on the tightrope of love and anticipation . It's why I fell in love with PSB in the first place and is a better track than any of Nonetheless (which I do like), but this early era has a sort of grit and atmosphere that is missing from newer tracks.

And that synth in the coda, it's just blissfully evocative of catching the late train home... .

That's it. It's the "lying in the gutter but looking at the stars" atmosphere that's appealing to me.

Can I just say, having this song as a single has really really improved my views on it.

I agree also, wasn’t so sure on it but now hear it every night at work on the radio. Love it.

One of Neil's finest lyrics, that one (Though paraphrased from Wilde of course). That's actually a really nice tattoo material.

Mine arrived on Friday. Unfortunately it is quite badly creased to the right of the gatefold.
