Its OK i guess... i still like the Nightlife cover the best..

I think the reason they chose the dark (ok ok BLACK) backdrop, is to prevent it from being pirated... pirates will lose a fortune by trying to xerox the covers

I think it looks great altough I agree that the placement of Neil and Chris is a bit weird, it would seem more logical if they were further in the bottom right corner. But then again, I'm not a designer, so I can really only say that I like it, let's say 8/10. The I'm with stupid cover would get 9/10 by the way.

I enlarged the picture so that i had

Pet Shop Boys
Fundamental

As big as my PC Monitor and i think that the word "Fundamental" is not well balanced.
Especially the first three letters "Fun". Also the M looks not good. And the two P`s are looking different.

OK it is difficult to design special letters in the form of neon lights but they could have done it better.

Im sorry, but its one of their worst covers. That award belongs to Nightlife. It actually reminds me of A rare Timelords 12" remix sleeve which I'll try and find later

this album cover looks brilliant too BTW - love the minimalist look. Its very PSB...

Not very exciting is my first impression, it doesn't really stand out in a shop the way 'Release' did, it's OK-ish imo unless this is an April Fool's Day joke!

Could it be that there is an anaglyph or another innovation which cannot be shown here? PSB are well known for these things.

i love Neil in this shot

but why oh why would chris approve this picture of him? it doesnt do him any favours. doesnt even look like him paticularly, other than the fact he is frowning and wearing glasses

That's why I was wondering if it could be an April Fools joke. I don't know, I just don't think Chris would be happy with a shot that obviously makes him look fat.
