Every new user is treated the same way. If you join and post sensibly, don't flood the forum with trash and don't post near naked pictures/videos of yourself (the nudity rule I remember took a lot of thrashing out and we eventually decided to ban all nudity to be fair to everyone involved in that argument) then you don't have a problem. You don't quote my post directly above, where I mention I don't recall any similar issues with other users.

Nice reference to the knee, btw. Let me just say I hope you are, and continue to be, in the best of health.

it was that point I was reminded of the line from the terminator.

"Listen and understand. That a victor5 is out there. It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you have your ears destroyed. " or something like that.

there was no way else this was going to end except with his banning.
I agree. He would have posted endlessly and eventually we would have all got fed up with it. I think Steve's pre-emptive strike is fair enough and saves us the hassle of asking him to invoke a ban further down the road.

In retrospect, maybe I should have warned him first, though that was one other thing I was going to mention - If I had warned him for spamming the forum and nudity in his posts, what would it leave him to post? It certainly struck me that it was his entire point of being here.

I've seen pure, homophobic comments from users (thus breaking forum rule #1) who are still posting here. This Victor didn't break any forum rules, unless you're creative enough to consider his YouTube vids featuring shirtless pics as "nudity". And even if you do so, it's still a fact that this Victor was banned without any warning, while some other users weren't. That's NOT same treatment. And as you can tell from the responses in this topic, not many people applaude this decision.

As for the knee comment; it's clear you didn't get my point at all. I was trying to make clear that what's interesting for one person, may be useless drivel for somebody else. Calling posts "drivel" is pretty subjective.

Exactly. And besides, what's wrong with useless drivel anyway? Writing in forums is an unproductive pastime. We're merely doing it for our own enjoyment. Who's to say what's enjoying and what isn't. The fact is that a lot of posters enjoyed Victors posts. He shouldn't have been banned merely because the moderator found his posts useless.

We might not have seen the homophobic comments that you refer to. There is a report function on the forum. We have said many times over that we can't read every post in the forum. If you deem something someone has posted is wrong then report it and we'll look into it.

God awful videos of someone who can't sing I would class as drivel, spam in fact. Posting about football, Erasure or my knee are valid enough subjects - hence the OT forum exists. You chose to compare the subject of my knee with posting drivel. I have come to expect a certain amount of personal stuff directed at me when people don't agree with a decision I have made. Like I say, I hope no-one here has to suffer bad health the way I have done over the years, and my thoughts go out to anyone who has.

It clearly makes no sense to discuss this any further. You're obviously not getting the point.

I will just conclude that I disagree with banning users who a) didn't break forum rules and b) weren't warned. I've always been against banning people who didn't break rules (I even was with that certain Z-person, some years ago)

Banning people on subjective conditions is not a direction this forum should go, and not something that users applaud.

I've already mentioned that posting of any nudity is against forum rules, be that male or female nudity, topless or otherwise. You may not remember the debate that lead to that rule being implemented, but it was implemented because it was the only way to be fair to everyone's opinion on the matter.

I have also already conceded that I perhaps should have warned him first, and if anyone is upset by that then I apologise, but like I said, a warning for nudity and spamming/trolling the forum (both myself and Drico were in agreement that it was what he was doing) would have left him with nothing to post.

Forum rules say:
The posting of nudity and/or pornography, or links to such content on other web sites is forbidden. Pornographically sourced pictures (even those made ’clean’ by image manipulation) are also forbidden.
So if I as an experienced poster and longtime member can't read anything about partial nudity over here, how is a new user supposed to?

Additionally, forum rules say:
Users breaking any of these rules will be contacted by a member of the admin team. Repeated breaking of the rules after warning/s will result in exclusion from the forums without further notice.
And that's not what happened here. This Victor was not contacted, nor warned. He was simply banned for a reason that's a) unclear to him, b) not communicated well in the forum rules.

And the remark that he wouldn't have much left to post if he can't post YouTube vids, is again subjective. That's not a criterium to base a ban on.

I suggest Drico One and you are going to rewrite the forum rules.

Isn't the picture of your knee 'nudity' though?

So how come members still remain here who constantly post references to other members parents? Publically calling them prostitutes and still posting ''Is She still Charging'' in their signatures? Not only that, somebodys address was posted in his signature!!

There was also porn posted in one of the PSB Brit threads that turned into a PSB/Erasure battle. That member wasn't banned.

You mentioned that Victor5 was trolling, yet the points ive made above involve 2 members who hardly post anything about PSB and also seem to have gone very quiet since that Erasure thread was closed. That explains a lot as to why they are actually here.

If people like Victor are going to be banned for trolling, surely that rule has to be enforced all the time.

look, the dude was half naked, and in one picture it looked like he had a mid sized hamster stuffed down the front of his shorts.

the most Ironic thing out of all this is, so many people are defending him, yet those very people above are the ones who got him banned. you got him all amped up with your phoney praise causing him to spam the forum with video after video and picture after picture. so, you put his head on the chopping block.

now THATS funny.
