Don't know about the formats of "Wrong", but I remember some disappointments over the Minimal formats, where one B-side (Blue On Blue) was only released on DVD. Also, there were no digital formats for Minimal, if memory serves me correct. I bet "Wrong" was released on digital formats.

What makes me laugh about this thread and many others is that while other groups are being slaughtered for their "poor" sales, for the PSB it is always the same petty excuse ie "They are still selling well for a 25 year old electro pop group!" or and even funnier as I saw from undertaker "Yes did well even without a primetime tv advert!!!!" Priceless stuff that!
There are some seriously deluded PSB fans that come up with some of the biggest bullshit I have ever read, not just biased but the type of stuff that always has some kind of excuse or reason why PSB do/don't sell well while for other groups it is just cos they are shit! And people just make up their own rules and regulations as they go along which is quite funny to see!
I worry that if it wasn't for the Brit award then this album could have seriously bombed, yes I know the fanbase is good but let's be honest with all the publicity "Yes" didn't do that well chartwise did it, Not that I care as it is a great record , just not commercially viable with today's record buying public. Simple as that.
I agree to a point in what that guy from yahoo music meant when he spoke about PSB not being a relevant mainstream act today, I personally hope they are not with all the crap out there at the moment! It is true too that far too many people are more concerned about sales/chart positions than the actual record itself which let's not forget is fantastic! Even better than the New Depeche mode, which will probably sell better than yes and without a primetime tv advert or Brit, not bad for a group that has been around for nearly 30 years etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah!!!

It's just nice to hear that the band that you have stood by for nearly all your life is still doing great in the charts. Nothing wrong with that.

And let's be honest, due to their early-career, near flawless chart record, PSB will always have a closer association to charts and sales figures than, say, Super Furry Animals.
Masterson deserves a good ripping because he's pure tabloid, but his DM-Syndrome theory is long pre-dated by Neil Tennant's christening of the "Paul Weller syndrome"; decent fanbase rushes out in week 1 to buy all new material resulting in a 1st week-heavy sales result. Tennant used this phrase publicly round about the time It's Alright came out.
Being a former pop magazine journalist, he himself is fully aware of music chart stats and trends, and many PSB fans share their charts obsession with Tennant himself.

The new Depeche Mode album will be huge in Germany.
A first week #1 position is guaranteed, no question.
Wrong entered the german singles charts at #2.
Germany is the 2nd biggest market for DM, just behind the US. And for SOTU, I think it might become the market with the best sales worldwide, even more than it'll sell in the US.
Their fanbase here might be bigger than any other fanbase, even bigger than U2.
If you compare DM to PSB in Germany, it's like the Rocky Mountains against a little stone. Although PSB release better music

First of all, this is a chart thread, to discuss the charts, believe it or not. The only person i see going off one one (again) is you. I get the impression you are delibratly stoking fires, then walking away. There was no hint of any arguments until you posted the above.

Also, for some odd reason, you have forgotton what forum you are on. Of course some are going to see the light shine through PSB's arse.

This is a good thread where a lot of people are contributing. There is no hint of any squabbling until you piped up. I actually thought you were a decent contributor to this forum but you are giving the impression you are merely a trouble causer. If you are't interested, don't read it. They also seem to do really well in America. Which, for a British act, is some accomplishment. Especially after nearly 3 decades.
