Do both smash t-shirts (actually artwork and pointy hats) have written SMASH on their back? That wasn’t clear from the depiction in the official store. Thank you.

Yes, that's what I meant. And of course the single version (aka "'Edit") is identical to the album version.Oznerol wrote: Sun 18 Jun 2023, 11:45 pmYou got me trapped here! maybe do you mean the "album version"? because there is no "single edit" on the 2001 reissue..right? And I always thought that the album and the usual single version (I mean not some of the rare edits on the US cassette or Japanese promo CDs..) were the same...aren´t they??Ewok wrote: Sun 18 Jun 2023, 10:15 pm On SMASH they also revisited the original Go West single edit. On the 2001 reissue, PopArt und Ultimate there's a slight difference at 4:24 just before the instrumental bit.
I just compared the "PopArt" version with the original album and what I see is that there was a sudden "up" in volume on the original just before the instrumental part...to make it sound louder on the original album/single versions, but it remains quieter on PopArt..is that the difference you mean? I never noticed that before...

Sorry, it's a 4:05-version on my player... which makes everything more confusing. There's a 3:55, a 4:05 and apparently a 4:10 version.TwizzleUK wrote: Mon 19 Jun 2023, 3:03 pmShows as 4:04 on my version of Smash, not 4:10telys wrote: Mon 19 Jun 2023, 1:14 pmStill doesn't explain the 4:10 version on SMASH.TwizzleUK wrote: Mon 19 Jun 2023, 12:51 pm
Could just be a mistiming on Geowayne's part. Discogs shows the original 7" and the 7" version on the original CD single both as 3:59:
https://www.discogs.com/release/83738-P ... On-My-Mind
https://www.discogs.com/release/109197- ... On-My-Mind
Anyway, the major point is that SMASH CD1 is not a copy of Discography, changes have been made, either in the remastering or in the choice of 7''-versions available from the sources.

Yes. And I'm quite annoyed by it as I won't wear it now.minimal wrote: Mon 19 Jun 2023, 4:57 pm Do both smash t-shirts (actually artwork and pointy hats) have written SMASH on their back? That wasn’t clear from the depiction in the official store. Thank you.

7000 sales gets you a number three position??? By God these new popstars would have floundered in the 80s....
Sophie Ellis Bextor was three in the midweeks and ended up at 8 so that's a decent indication....

It’s ridiculously ugly and annoying. The front print would do.

Jeez the remasters are good. Wish we could get 2023 for the whole catalogue..
I'm guessing that the remasters were:
Done by a musician, possibly classicaly trained
He's young and was very young or not around when the Pets started their career!
I could be very wrong of course!!!

I love the Alexa animation! It needs more credit here.
Guys, Neil and Chris voiced a short little animation!
It's them speaking to an Alexa assistant thing. Goes for 30 seconds.
It's been posted on Instragram and Facebook. (As well as Twitter as previously mentioned)

Re: Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020
It´s not just a longer fade out! this is a slightly differente "edit" of the song.
After the final beakdown, the previous versions were:
...music..."i don´t know why"...short music... "I never thought I'd fall in love/Idon´t know why"...music.... etc
But on Smash:
...music..."i don´t know why"...music..."i don´t know why"...short music... "I never thought I'd fall in love/Idon´t know why"...music.. etc
In other words, the first "I don´t know why" verse is repeated twice on Smash after the breakdown, and just once on the previous single/album versions...
That makes you think about how many slight variants of each song are stored on the Parlophone vaults!!
This is not my signature.

Yes, and likewise we might have the "action man" part of "I don't know what you want..." reinstated by mistake on a future release, who knows ?

Thing is, these aren't different "versions" as I would think of them. I'll assume there's no 4:10 version, as I've no evidence of it. The other timings are simply 4-6 seconds shorter or longer than the original 3:59 CD single. The song fades out, so it's simply the same "version" of the song, but ever so slightly longer or shorter depending on when the engineer mastering each release decided to end the fade out. The track's so quiet at that point in the track, hardly any listeners would be likely to notice any difference.telys wrote: Mon 19 Jun 2023, 5:20 pm Sorry, it's a 4:05-version on my player... which makes everything more confusing.
