in the end it doesn't matter, ID cards or no ID cards... if terrorists want to kill innocents, they will. it's what makes it all so horrific. it's what screams for solutions OTHER than killing even more innocents on THEIR side (so to speak). after a while, it's all reduced to ashes anyway.
drivers' licenses are a form of ID cards, sure. but you aren't required to whip it out and hand it over for a scanner to read your life story to all and sundry. and if you drive drunk, you'd better believe in some form of retribution.
if they want to account for everybody in the country, there are ways to do that other than being intrusive on this scale. I'd rather rot in jail than show my ID card (the kind the UK is introducing) to anybody asking for it just because I happen to look 'suspicious'.
and in no frickin' way would I pay for it.
there's got to be boundaries in each of our lives over which NO ONE can step or we'll be all reduced to wusses for political fearmongering and de-filtering. please, don't be with stupid!
