...then one is an idiot, since there is clearly a marked difference between a mass market product about current hitmakers and a niche item for diehard fans from a band that no longer charts singles.

Now that may be an unfair comparison, but if they're going to put out something with so much obvious filler, then they should at least offer a CD with it, like the earlier ones.

Most installments haven't come with a CD. I like them too, but the whinging is absurd.

I mean, they have never been a nostalgic band, and suddently we have a neverending greatest hits tour, Volume actualized up to this year, Obscure, clearly a thank you letter to their fans, and now Actually with a 20 objects historic review, an article about something that happens in the 80s, and a 80s picture in the cover as weel. Sounds like a goodbye to me.

The never-ending Dreamworld tour, that final performance of Being Boring, the whole Nonetheless campaign (cover, lyrics, 5 singles streak and specially the video of Bohemia), the release of Volume, the Obscure shows... All this is giving me a sense of goodbye. Maybe not imminent but like accepting that the end is near and tying all loose ends in their own terms while they can.

I think all this will become more evident once they retire. Everyone will be like "How we didn't see it, they were telling us goodbye!".

Much like Blackstar album was interpreted as his goodbye letter once Bowie died, but no one saw it before that despite those not very subtle videos and lyrics.

...and another straw man. I criticize them all the time - just yesterday I posted here about them phoning in their remixes. But likewise I don't feel entitled to a CD with Annually every year, and I understand the economics of micropublishing full color hardcover books vs mass market stuff like the original Annually means the former are going to cost a lot more than the latter.

If your only rhetorical options are zero and a hundred, it's not a great sign.

If you're buying through the official PSB store, there's a "Contact Us" link under the Support menu at the bottom of the store webpages. I had to use this once to gripe about why my copies of New London Boy were taking so long to ship. I got a reply from an Actual Human Being within about 24 hours and the CDs did get to me eventually.

Maybe their payment system is having a bad day?
