PSB and Bono make a song about world peace to promote their new album...

You know what, opinions like this i really find odd. ''It's against everything they once said and believed in'' Thats total crap. What about songs and video's that featured Ian Mckellan, Dusty Springfield and Joss Ackland? What about the Absolutley Fabulous record? Do you honestly expect them not to try different things? What the hell is wrong with using a ploy to attract people to buy their stuff?

The Pets are friends with Lucas and Walliams, who are both big psb fans. I would imagine that they all just thought it would be a bit of a laugh. Relax, please.
Ok, i agree i overreacted. It´s just that the first say 8 years of their careers they rely on the quality of their music only. I just wish they concentrate more on make good music and less on ploys. And the example with Dusty is a bad one. When psb collaborated with her career was a bit down the dumper. Absolutely fabulous was for charity. I used to admire psb to work with people not so wellknown but very talented.

I have to disagree with this. The boys have never relied soley on their music alone - their image, their videos, the photos, the press they do etc have all played a major part in ensuring they deliver, what Neil called on The South Bank Show, the complete "pop package".

Sigh, of course videos and photos are all part of the big picture. With the press at least before they were very proud they could succeed without do the tabloid press. "You see, we don´t belive publicity have any value. It makes you more famous but don´t sell you any more records" Neil once said. I don´t live in the uk so i don´t know if this has changed now.
With the video i rest my case. Maybe good strategy from now on every new video work with some new famous person. PSB been around for ages and obviosly have tons of friends.

Britain is very media driven. There has also been a blurring of the lines between the tabloid and quality press. The broadsheets and TV news are very interested in showbiz these days. Popstars and actors have to play the game. That doesn't mean that they have to tell The Sun about their love lives, but it does mean they will probably go on the Jonathan Ross show to plug their latest project and be a bit shameless.
PSB have definitely become more showbiz post-Very. I know they always played the game to an extent - chatting with Sarah Greene on Going Live!, for instance - but they've certainly scowled less and become more comfortable on the Des O'Connor circuit in the last decade. I'm sure that's deliberate to an extent but I do wonder how much is due to Neil's luvvy persona, the baleful influence of the Gay Mafia (I mean, what other reason for appearing on Ant and Dec?) or simply sheer shameless desperation?

Those two funny guys look interesting.
Miracles and Flamboyant were not the best PSB videos, so if they want to be
in the Top again they need to make something unusual, but of course without
mouses, rats and etc.
