MINIMAL - Wrong Choice First Single Curse Strikes Again...?

Okay, so this is all 'bbc politics style' speculation, but so far the vibe would seem to suggest yet another 'wrong' choice for first single?

The 2 songs receiving the biggest 'wow' are undoubtedly:
INTEGRAL
SODDOM & GOMORAH SHOW

...obviously, until we actually hear 'Minimal' - then we will know.

...but just for fun, what do you think?

PAST TRACK 'RECORD' -

BEFORE - Billingual
NEW YORK CITY BOY - Nightlife
HOME & DRY - Release

...Integral sounds like the one, 'A STORMER' isn't that what the 'Boys' should return with, a real 'slap in the face' to all the doubters?

Maybe we should wait to make a judgement until we have actually heard the songs?

New York City Boy wasn't the first single from Nightlife.

But yes, I fully expect the first single from the album to be a disappointment, like Before, I don't know what you want and Home and Dry.
It was a cough that carried him off. It was a coffin they carried him off in.

Maybe Integral and Soddom and Gomorah Show are better songs but Minimal is a more obvious single. Anyway, until we hear these songs then its pure speculation.

The best thing you can do is thinking that it's going to be a bad album (which is very difficult with so many good reviews). After expecting something so much, you can feel disappointed.

Yes, it's true in most of cases (but not in all of them).

I many of them... because when a singer or group is away from the music business for a long time (last "strong" single was 2 years ago...) people need time to remember "who are they?"
Sometimes the first single is good to create the right "ambient" to the feel of the album...

I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more was definately stronger than New York city boy and Drunk. Whether it was the stronget track on the album to release as a single is an entirely different matter.

I think New York city boy was planned to be more commercial than I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more. At the end, this song is played in the concerts. I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more was only played in the Nightlife Tour.

It certainley was commercial but it wasn't a very strong song. I don't think that New York city boy should be played at the concerts. There's so many superior PSB songs that they shoudl play that they haven't. In The Night, anyone? I want to wake up?

I don't think any of the above comments are fair. The songs released have all done very well commercially and helped album sales. I'd only take issue with Before even tho it's an excellent track with Danny Tenaglia. The jump in Neil's vocals may have been offputting for some.
