...no joke! Just thought today, it's was time to bother EMI Germany the first time about 'Fundamental' and 'Minimal' promos for a possible competition on my page, and got the following info:
- Fundamental can't be released in April and is postphoned in mid-May (or maybe end of May)
- Minimal also will not come out already in March. A new possible release date is setup for mid-April.
They don't give me any details, why all is postphoned, but I heard through the grapewine there are problems with the artwork. Not sure though if this is true fact.
So thats the reason, why it is so damn quiet at the time.... Assume we have to wait a bit more!
Fundamental postphoned to May!

God dammit. Problems with the art work?!? The album has been finished since november - how long can it take to get the artwork together??
A more likely explanation (perhaps): march-april is a busy time for album releases - maybe they think PSB have better chances for a succesful release in may-june?
Another possible explanation: The record company thinks that the album lacks a hit single and want the boys to write one. It's happened before, after all (on Nightlife, where the US label needed a "US single" - which they never released after all).

Sony/Epic have informed us that, due to an artwork problem, the reissue of Liza Minnelli's "Results" album, produced by Pet Shop Boys, has been put back to January 2005.
Potemkin release date
9 July 2005
EMI have decided to delay the release of the "Battleship Potemkin" CD for manufacturing reasons. A new date, around the end of September, will be announced soon.
