Fundamental released today! - 22 May '06

#1 Post by donjuan »

The long-awaited and much-discussed new Pet Shop Boys' album, "Fundamental", is released today on CD and vinyl. Produced by Trevor Horn, the album contains 11 new Tennant/Lowe compositions, including the Top 10 hit "I'm with Stupid", and a Dianne Warren composition, "Numb". The album has been "CD of the Week" in almost every UK newspaper in the last few days. See below for links to press reactions and for details of the USA release.

Great songs. Trevor Horn has done a brilliant job as well. It reminds me of both Very and Behaviour at the same time. Brilliant.

yay, mine just arrived with the post. The 'Special Edition' plastic case is all black! Very nice, but I got my fingerprints all over it already... I am lookign forward to my drive home tonight, listening to Fundamentalism :-)
I went fishing with Salvador Dali; he used a dotted line.

Got Fundamental, wife's picking up the 'ism' for me later. My baby has been crying all morning and he has stopped now it's playing. He and I are both mesmerised by this wonderful album. What a treat. Ten times better than their last few efforts. I just can't believe how good it is!!!

Got the album this morning before work from Virgin, panicked at first as couldn't see the 2cd version, but then i found it on an end all marked 9.99..bargain I thought, took it to the till and came up 16.99, I said they are all marked at 9.99 so she put it through at that price...now i've nicked of work for an hour or so to enjoy it at home!! This album is amazing, I love every track. After hearing the mp3s that were circulating it is fabulous to now hear it in all its rich glory!

Wow, who could have predicted that the Pet Shop Boys could ever make such a fab album again in their career?!

My JP version arrived in the mail.

Overall I am very impressed. Much better than the last 3 albums.

Still need a couple of tracks to capture me.

The vinyl cost £14.99 from HMV. The 2cd version was £17.99 in HMV so i bought it from Music Zone for £14.97.

Got both Cd's from HMV

9.99 for album and 17.99 for Double album.

Be aware i took the price sticker off the Cardboard sleeve from the doulbe album and it's left a dull area  which stands out a mile from the glossy finish.

apart from that Great album :D

Noticed on the free card that there are ringtone exclusives - Where Are You and Water do we know if these are actual songs or just silly phone tones?

HMV had 1 vinyl Album which I bought ,Virgin had non only 2 vinyl Fundamentalism's which I bought, Woolworths had only 1 copy of the 2CD for 16.97 so had to get that..
HMV sales person said they only had 2 sent so have put in an order for more..
Virgin said sorry as they had only been sent 4 of the 12" Fundamentalism's..

If you want just the Album on CD there are loads @ 9.97..
They make a little go along way.. very Minimal but Fundamental.
