It enters at nr 42...as I recall it is a lot better then Release (somewhere in the 70s) and PopArt(did that one enter at all?)

I heard sunday a journalist about Fundamental on Dutch radio: "It's not about politics at all, it is about relationships" and after that they played 10 seconds of Luna Park and that was it. Next album.

Nearly all reviews for Fundamental in the Netherlands are very positive. The leading music magazine OOR had a positive review, so did the general weekly magazine Nieuwe Revu, as well as the Veronica tv guide.

It's not lack of positivism that's responsible for the low popularity of PSB in the Netherlands. It's lack of promotion. See viewtopic.php?t=12896 please

In Belgium the same...It enters at place 43 !

It's very difficult to find a Fundamental-album in the stores.

I don't understand it. Very much promotions at TV and magazines here in Belgium but NO FUNDAMENTALS IN THE MOST OF THE STORES.

I think only the fans will searching the album. All the rest will be convince with a clear sale.

Belgium and the Netherlands don't count when it comes to promoting Pet Shop Boys. It's a policy. A disgusting one, but we can only respect it. A potential audience of 26 million people is hardly aware of the new album. It's already tumbling down again in the Dutch charts. :(

As expected (with no promotion at all), Fundamental is rapidly falling down in the Dutch album charts. It's at #86 in its third week. :(

Chart run:
42 - 55 - 86

Maybe with a new single it goes upwards again. 8)
I'm with stupid is not a good single for the Netherlands. We don't like that kind of no-music. Minimal is much better.

It's not really fair to say that there was no promotion for 'Fundamental' in Belgium.

The boys spent one day in Brussels for promo interviews and all major newspapers published something to celebrate the release of the album. I haven't read a negative review ! I don't think EMI is to blame.

Furthemore, in the french speaking part of the country, 'I'm with stupid' is playlisted on the public radio stations (Pure FM / Vivacité) which is quite positive. Unfortunately the radios which aim to a younger audience are less inclined to go that way....but the same happens everywhere right ?

The fact that Fundamental slightly climbs in Belgium for the second week could be explained by the fac tthat it was difficult to find the first week

OK, then my comments regarding 'no promotion' are only aimed at the Netherlands.

*sigh* :(

Surprisingly, Fundamental managed to stay in the album Top 100 for a 4th week....

42 -> 55 -> 86 -> 97
