I like the idea that Holland is getting a little more British. What do you think?

Thank you!

But I, as a Churchill-adept, like the British very much, and I am glad that the Barclay-office will be in Amsterdam and I am proud the British will work together with us.

It makes a change from British businesses being taken over by foreign ones I guess. Although I'm not sure you'll like it so much, diana, when Dutch workers are losing their jobs due to consolidation.

It's hardly talk of the day, nor is The Netherlands getting 'more British', nor is this kind of merge new. Many big Dutch companies, such as KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines), Unilever and Hoogovens (Corus) merged with foreign partners.

For people with knowledge there is enough work at the moment, there's no need to worry.

O boy, Royal Bank of Scotland is on the way!
Royal Bank of Scotland trumps Barclays offer

The battle for Dutch lender ABN Amro has escalated after Royal Bank of Scotland and its consortium partners offered to trump the deal that Barclays secured on Monday.

The Scottish bank, which has teamed up with Belgium's Fortis Bank and Spain's Santander, said it is prepared to pay €39 a share, topping the €36.25 that Barclays agreed with ABN Amro. The group will pay 70pc in cash and 30pc in Royal Bank of Scotland shares.

lol, I wondered how long it would be before either RBS or HBOS decided to get in on the act.

It's all about the money the made over 5 miljard € last year but share holders (Majer one is a UK Hedgefund) don't feel it's enough. So the bank president gonna earn at leat 11.000.000 with his shares and bonnusses and about 23000 people like you and me get fired, GREAT we're a little more Britisch let's wave the flag.

Count yourself lucky if Barclays takes ABN over: if the RBS consortium takes over it'll be shredded into little pieces.
You can fly away to the end of the world
but where does it get you to?
