What Next?
Are we gonna be left with nothing new for a while again or will they try and push on from the positive press for fundamental and the tour? Maybe a new album sooner rather than later??
That's it, it's all over. We're out of here. What a Legacy! (c) Chris Lowe 2009

Meanwhile the boys may have other projects like the ballet thing for example.
Anyway, they deserve some vacation.
old PSB songs always sound fresh to me

I am very happy about the new Tomahawk album, but can't see many people at this forum enjoying it...

The Boys have released an awful lot of late, ever since 2001 really- Closer to Heaven, Release, Disco 3, PopArt, Battleship Potemkin, Fundamental, Concrete and now it looks likely this will all be followed by Disco 4.
Possibly a period of quiet will follow. I don't expect they will even start working properly on another album until late 2008 which would probably mean a 2009 release at the earliest. If a ballet happens, or any other kind of side project gets in the way, then we will certainly be looking at 2010.
I personally wonder whether Parlophone might try and push for single disc Greatest Hits in the meantime. A lot of bands are starting to release Greatest Hits packages more and more frequently- U2 released their U218 Singles just 4 years after their last one. George Michael just 8 years (despite having only made 1 album in the meantime). I hope not, and it is probably unlikely, but then again I wouldn't have thought there would be a Disco 4 this year and it looks like I may well be wrong about that one...

During t current tour, Neil has made a point of saying how he and Chris will remain the Pet Shop Boys "for some considerable time" and Chris has stated that there will be "many more albums" so I think the plan is some type of reissue or release every six months, probably DVDs of old tours, Nightlife reissue, singles box sets, and new albums every three to four years until Neil is sixty.

Probably an updated single disc of Discography would be a prudent move for EMI, discography still outsells Pop Art massively, and this way they can take it back into the full price bracket.
I mean they only need to add five or six of the bigger hits like Can you forgive her?, Go West, Before, SAVA, New York city boy, HAD and I'm with stupid
