The Pet Shop Boys talk about Madonna.

"Madonna always looks ahead, both for looks and sounds, just like we do," says the Pet Shop Boys to Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

"Working with her means that we did it alright. We work when we feel creative and not for success."

I hope they'll work tagether in the future-no matter if remix or a PSB produced track for MADONNA!

Isn 't it funny and great when people you admire and love , have the same admiration for each other ??!!!!

...90 % of the artists I love , have said good words about each other careers at some points in interviews ....Now it never comes as a surprise!!,,,I must have good taste

I think both parties would be mad not to move towards something in the future. After all the Pet Shop Boys have wanted to work with her since Heart. I don't think a collarboration would have worked in 1987/88, but now their music is in the same general area - why not!

wasn't it the other way around, Madonna wanted psb to support her during one of her tours but they quite rightly felt they were better than a support band

I'm not a Madonna fan, so I'd like that PSB wiil choose others artists to collaborate. This article -in its full version-, maybe, is the best in the italian press since Fundamental, the others are just horrible speakin' only about PSB as the band of Paninaro

I hadn't heard that. Nice to know she liked them way back - and that would've been a great show.

I was referring to the Pet Shop Boys wanting Madonna to record Heart but were too shy to ask her. They then considered Hazel Dean and then decided to record the track themselves.

If there is a future collaboration with Madonna, I hope it will be a juicier one than the Sorry remix. It was simply a so-so remix except Neil's vocals, which surprisingly give an instant aura of PSB sound into any track (crying game, no regrets etc)

I love their version; it's the one I heard in the bars of swinging Blackpool at the time!

If it sounds a wee bit pedestrian it might be that Neil and Chris were nervous making a remix for her. Perhaps they were a little bit in awe and consequently didn't make it as radical as they might have done - I dunno.

I remember Neil said they made two remixes, one without his added added vocal in case she didn't like it, but she went for the vocal. Madonna has said this was her favourite mix of the track.

I also remember Madonna and Neil being interviewed on the radio and did an impromptu "I'm sorry/Je suis désolé/I'm sorry/Lo siento/I'm sorry/Ik ben droevig" on the spot. I just happened to catch it - anyone know what programme it was?

BTW: Does anyone know when Madonna said "I f*** love the Pet Shop Boys!" I have a feeling it was way back.

Wasn't it Stuart Price who said about her wonderful cue in this Popjustice interview, in 2005? Just to remind you...

So it's fair to say that Madonna wouldn't be where she is today without the Pet Shop Boys?
She really loves them as well. Because they worked with Bobby Orlando in New York really early on, and I'm guessing she would've been around there at that same period. So I think there's a huge kind of cross-over there. It's funny because when we were doing 'Jump' I didn't think she'd know who the Pet Shop Boys were but she was the one who was screaming 'Pet Shop Boys! I f*** love them!'

The boys can only improve her, especially that rock n roll voice she puts on from time to time.

Radiophonic, I thought the same thing- they were a bit too cautious and conservative in their remix of "Sorry". Ultimately, it's just a longer mix sweetened by Neil's angelic vocals- and oh-so-sparingly!

They've done such titanic remixes for others, and freely commissioned drastic remixes of their own songs.. Sorry was a letdown.

I gotta laugh at the original post: "PSB Give Madonna Innocous General Compliment!"

They've been far more bitchily entertaining about her in the past, highly quotable too.

And don't think she doesn't know it! Madonna remembers EVERYthing, esp. what other artists say about her- suck it, Mariah!
