England vs Russia (Foorball)

#1 Post by Parkol »

Today is a very important day for us.
We know that England is not very strong team as Spain , Italy or German but it’s still in Top 40 I think. How do you think who will win today?
I believe in us, we can win in spite we do play not very good football.

I think: 2-0 Russia wins.

England are currently 12th in the FIFA World Rankings, Russia are 24th.

It'll be a tight game and I'm in agreement with Fugitive1979 in that England should win 2-0.

I reckon, being realistic, England will win at wembley and Russia will win in Russia. Would be nice if England got a draw out there but they will be playing on a plastic pitch which will not be easy.
Russia have their third choice keeper tonight so I hope he is well tested.
As for England not being as strong as Germany, Spain or Italy, Well going by that they should still beat Russia as they are much higher in the rankings than they are. They played well against Germany in the recent friendly, created lots of chances but lost to a goalkeeping error and 30 yard rocket.
If they keep Richards, Barry and Wright-Phillips in tonight they should get a result. I even thought Hesky had a good game against Israel the other day which is rare.

Sorry I forgot France, of course...
France is still one of my fav football team.
Russian players are not hte best in the world but if we really want - we take.
England plays very rude sometimes.
I mean it's more interesting how Brazil plays and Italy, they play as in the Theater.
So Russia plays as it plays for a result.

We lost Portugal 1-7, it was few years ago...
But I believe in us.

Don't agree at all that England play rude, What do you say about the sides that dive about all over the place? Fair play? Theatre yes, as they are very good actors.
I like direct football, and it is the way English football is and I hope it never changes.
I find the Italians boring to be honest, very strong in defence of course and the Brazilians great in attack but no surprise considering they have Ronaldinho and co.
Will be interesting to see how Russia plays tonight as to be honest I have no idea. I like the coach Hiddink, normally his teams play attacking football so it should be no different tonight.

Great victory for Scotland, defended brilliantly against an all attacking French team, I am looking forward to football training tomorrow night! My grandmother is Scottish so Ive got a bit of the blue blood in me!
Quite comfortable for England in the end, deserved their victory and will go to Russia on a high after that.
If both qualify it will be great!

That Scotland result cost me my accumalator. Fantastic result though but only if they go on to qualify. Otherwise, it means nothing.

England were far too good on the day for a poor Russian side. McClaren still must go though. It took a load of injuries for him to realise that playing a balanced side, wins matches.

It looks like the other home nations are already out without putting up much of a fight.

0-3…
I am not good in english, but I try…
100% that swedish referee got money from english guys.
When we hit english gates (20 min) that guy shown that Zyryanov played at his hand, of course he couldn’t, we hit 100% goal.

Two times English guys hit our players in front of gates.
We all know, it happens every time and it’s not a secret that when Russia plays referees do everything not to let them win.
Thus guy (Oven or smth. like this…) hit twice and one time was offside.
We’ll see what will happen in Moscow, because there will be different situation.
Our players had to win but we lost. Strange!
France, Germany, Italy… yes they are really strong and they are one of the best teams, but England…
I really think if the score was 1-1 we could win.
Such a small country like Englad won us…
I still think we should win.
We had many good moments but we couldn’t realize them + referee played for England, that was obvious.

In spite of all we are much stronger in:
Ice hockey ( I remember how we won England 12-0)
Basketball (look at at the European championship)
Tennis (Davis cop is our) and our tennis players are super!
Volleyball ( we hit everyone)
Swimming
Ski (they even can’t dream about it)
Box (the best boxers are Russians)
By the way before the match our fans have played against English fans in London, so we won 5-2.

Yes, I still think we should win. Russian players played under pressure English fans.

Your post suggests to me that your are what we in England call a ' window licker'.

England deservedly won a football match against Russia. There's no more to it than that. Get over it.

No way.
If that swedish guy didn’t shown that Zyranov played at his hand – we would win.
I don’t understand about “window licker” but in Russia we call it PIZDEC, SUKA, OHUELI.

Let’s see what will be in Moscow in October.
Also I was surprised when I saw few African guys on the field… Are they really english?
Russia would buy few Brazilians and say – yes, we are Russians and we are cool.

I still think that England was lucky, not more.

I don’t really understand what you say but I can say almost the same:
That is there and then that was, this was then and that was those…

Get over it.
Get over what?
Tip-tip ta-ra-ra…
Over and over…

If we lost Italy – I understand, but when we lost England…
It’s not normal. The country where a half of national clubs belongs to us…
Very strange…

"African" guys? You mean Black, right? Cos we don't have any "Africans" in our team. Every single player we fielded last night was born in England.

Normally I would come down hard on someone who made such a racist statement but I know you live in a country where backwards racial attitudes are the norm, so consider yourself lucky. But you would do well to educate yourself about England and its colonial and immigrant history before making such statements.

"Half of national clubs"? Okay, there's Chelsea, and Portsmouth that are Russian-owned. That's two. Not half.

Either way, I struggle to see why that would make any difference at all.
