The publicity alone could propel the Erasure juggernaut back into the dizzy heights of the UK top 75!Channel 4 show seeks body for embalming
Production firm Fulcrum TV has advertised for terminally ill volunteers to be mummified for a forthcoming Channel 4-backed programme, it has emerged.
The programme's executive producer said that participants will be filmed right up to their death to get "a proper emotional response" from viewers when the body is embalmed. After the programme finishes, the mummified body could potentially be displayed in a museum for a two-year period.

Re: Andy Bell's next career move?
He was originally going to be on that reality t.v show that starts this week 'Pop Star to Opera Star' but it seems he isn't on.
He has a new solo album out soon and he's changed his identity. He is now 'MiMo'. Sadly, the stuff i've heard is pretty awful. He also did some kareoke thingme in a school hall recently. Not sure what it was about. Someone on PopJustice said he was judging the local marrow contest
The guy with his back to the camera, has all the moves.

Great, another Erasure/AB bashing post. Don't need it. I thought the new tracks had better production than Erasure usually does. You can dislike Erasure or Andy Bell, or Mimo, all you want, but lets keep this SPAM of a post, as the mods might or might not say, out of here. Thanks.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

Yes but FirthofForth don't forget that this bashing is basically a "feel good" factor thing for most on here, there are thousands of groups that we could all have a go at but Erasure are an easy target, I mean it is so desperate that if you look at the first post here you have a guy talking about Erasure reaching the dizzy heights of the top 75 when the PSB themselves have just about scrapped into the top 40!! Talk about short minded!!
I find it funny more than anything.

sad really - still despite peoples snide remarks Andy Bell has seen more places, made more money and more people happy than the huge majority of those who put him down.
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Re: Andy Bell's next career move?
Even though it's been mentioned plenty of times, Andy Bell lost a lot of credibility with that comment about delibrately contracting H.I.V.
To his credit though, he can still knock out a decent tune. He sounds really good in that clip.
I thought Vince and Andy would benefit from going their seperate ways after the past 15 years have become increasingly poor but hearing Andy's solo stuff, it's probably best they stick together and have another crack at it. Maybe there will be some better tracks on Andy's new album, than what was on the MiMo website. It just sounds sterile. Although most of them were remixes. The single versions might be better.

I thought that YouTube clip might have been a p!sstake, but no, it is actually Andy Bell.
No matter what anyone says though, they've produced some fantastic tracks, and their self-titled album was superb.
I've grown very tired of the Erasure bashing.

There isn't actually any Erasure bashing in this thread.

Re: Andy Bell's next career move?
I just saw that Robert Christgau, that famous US critic, has reviewed only one Erasure album, Pop First 20 Hits, and he rated it with a "bomb", meaning it is awful....Interesting.

It can't be through choice.
I know I wouldn't choose to do either if I was a millionaire.
