Best Erasure Album
If you want to vote for Other People's Songs or Light At The End Of The World do, do so with text, as there is not room in the poll.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]

Oh right, Union Street as well. Even though that's just a snarky comment by PB.

Nah, I'm just a sucker for genius artwork. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Albert Steptoe on vocals and a very happy Mekon on acoustic guitar.....

Re: Best Erasure Album
Actually, I love much of Erasure's artwork, it's the one and only area they beat PSB for me. I SAY has possible the best cover ever. I love the Loveboat era singles art. Why is it that Erasure get postmodern in visuals sometimes, like the Come Up And See Me video, but never in their music??? Another favorite is the Nightbird cover, which my gf equally loves, and has gotten a lot of shirts and books by the guy who does it. The names of their albums are pretty shit though. "Wild!", great thanks. "Loveboat"...umm, ok? "The Circus", how generic...what do almost any of these titles have to do with anything? I get the eponymous album is there because it's a more personal less poppy album. And Other People's Songs is self-explanatory, and Chorus is the name of a track. But everything else seems totally random.

Jesus, I wouldn't like to see your house. Erasure's best album is the original Pop!FirthofForth wrote:Actually, I love much of Erasure's artwork, it's the one and only area they beat PSB for me.

Re: Best Erasure Album
Perhaps, but that's a best of, I don't like Best Ofs to clog out votes from main albums and distort the poll that way. I'm sure Pop would win. I forgot that I love the artwork for Hits. But what a stupid ass collection, seriously. 3 tracks from Abbaesque? I dare someone to explain to me the logic in that. The bonus mix disc was king of nice if unnecessary though.Jesus, I wouldn't like to see your house. Erasure's best album is the original Pop!
As far as artwork, my gf made a giant piece of artwork based on the Nightbird type cover art. We have it over our bed, and the only picture I have has part of it, but here it is anyway just to upset you.

Re: Best Erasure Album
um three of the tracks off their only UK number one single/ep, plus Abba revival/re-evaluation due to Mama Mia primarily I suppose. Not that tricky to work out truth be toldFirthofForth wrote: I forgot that I love the artwork for Hits. But what a stupid ass collection, seriously. 3 tracks from Abbaesque? Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Hey FirthofForth
its good to see another Erasure fan on this forum. I must admit it is quite rare. ANyways, I was going to vote for the last cd, but I voted for Nightbird, that is also another favourite of mine.
I am going to have a listening party on my forum of Andy's new solo album if you are interested to check it out over the weekend. The link is on my signature here. Or you can just check out the site anyway.
