Apart from Patrick, not sure if there are any cricket fans among the body politic. I am going to be very tired at work for the next few weeks....

There's no sporting arena as formidable as the Gabba on the first day of an Ashes series Down Under.

Wow, what an Arena to be playing Cricket in.

I think England are a better side than Australia but not by a lot. It's also the hardest place to go and win a series, so i think England will get a draw at best. i cannot see them winning the series away from home.

The biggest problem i thought the aussies had in 2009, was too many players thought they were better than what they were. Especially Johnson and Siddle. They needed to grow up a lot. Siddle looks like he's done that already. He's on fire.

I was watching live when Siddle took his hat trick ; that was exciting.

I think the teams are well matched ; we may have a good series.

I do think India is harder to tour than Aus must be as visitors get dehli-belly
as well as heat. In Aus it's just the heat.

There does seem to be a healthy interest in the test series.

Even this early, that could be a series winning partnership. England were all over Australia yesterday, until those two came to the crease. There is no way the Aussies can afford to lose a Test IMO. Especially if it meant them going behind.

The one thing England do have is grit when it's batting to save a match. They are the best at saving a game. However, that's usually when batting second. It will be interesting to see how they go about saving a game when batting first.

Personally, i can't see this being anything else but an Aussie win.

Need to see off the new ball tonight and who knows, Collingwood might pull out one of his match saving innings.
