We’ve all got a fave album track that we reckon should’ve been given a crack at the Top 40. See which 11 made our shortlist.

You suggest 'em, we shortlist 'em – that’s the way Pop Gem , our celebration of overlooked pop classics, works. To celebrate reaching our 60th Pop Gem (OMG tell us we don't look that old, right?), we decided to revisit a theme that was massive first time round – the SHOULDA BEENS.

What’s a Shoulda Been, you ask? Why, it’s an album track that really ‘shoulda been’ a single but, for whatever reason, lost out to other tracks from the same stable. Sadness.

We had a massive number of entries this week, and picking a Top 10 was so hard, we ended up going for 11. All our finalists are big names, and we’re sure even if you’re not a big fan of the artist you’ll have heard of some of the tunes.

And if you haven’t, no probs – we’ve put together a YouTube playlist of all 11, which features some brilliant live performances and even a fanmade video for your Friday afternoon delight.
