'Unfortunate Connotations'

#1 Post by scousepsbfan » Mon 06 Aug 2018, 10:39 am

I heard an interview with Neil and Chris recently about deciding on the title for the Super album. Neil said that they had a title which they decided against as their manager said it could have 'unfortunate connotations'. They said they may use it in the future. Any guesses as to what this might be? I'm thinking something like 'Come' or 'Up' but then I have a filthy mind.
If anyone can the Action Man can.

After "Did you see me coming?" nothing surprises me anymore.
"It was a dark and stormy night."
"You know what's wrong with your stories? They lack subtlety."
"It was a sort of dark and kind of stormy night."

I seem to remember an early rumour that the album was to have their shortest title to date, which would give Up some credence.

They used the word Unhinged a lot in initial press interviews which could have been a worthy title. Any title which could have been perceived to make light of mental health issues could be considered as having unfortunate connotations.

Maybe someone with access to the relevant edition of Literally / Annually could see if that sheds any light?
Woof.

'Mad Pet Shop Boys'?

It is only three letters long... But then again, so was 'Yes'.

So it would have to have been a two letter word title...

Up would be my guess - and they used it in sUPer anyway.
Unless it was ‘we’, but I guess that just doesnt hold water.

"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]

abc had a good housey sounding album called 'up' already in the late 80's

so it probably wasn't that.

Joystick? Knob? Member? Package? Rod? Willy?
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.
