Burning The Heather Remix

#1 Post by nathanjay » Sun 24 Nov 2019, 10:03 pm

For my own listening pleasure, I had to remix the new song:

Very nice!! its upbeat and moody, kinda techno which I love! I dont know how you got rid of the acoustic guitar but in any case your version really hits its stride when the chorus comes in, it really shines on that. although I would have liked more of a build up with drums like maybe a drum roll and cymbal crash when the chorus hits. but you did a great job on that. the string lines you came up with are really perfect when they appear. I also like that little piano like break down near the end. you also upturned neils vocal on I'll consider "staying" ha ha love it. I can download it from youtube but if you have a mp3 pass it along!

edited myself. went off on tangent. lol

I usually turn off fan made mixes after the first couple of bars, but this is incredibly well done.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

This is so good! It’s a decent upbeat remix that still keeps the melancholy of the original.

This is brilliant. Dare I say better than the original. This is what I am hoping the new album sounds like.

Love the sparse-ness of it all. Sounds similar to the remixes that RAC do.

A great start to a Monday morning!

I like this, i have a few of your mixes, i especially like the 84 mix of The Way It Used To Be so this is a nice surprise, what program do you use to make your video's, always wondered how you manage to incorporate the official video within yours.

Hey, thanks for all the replies.

"you also upturned neils vocal on I'll consider "staying" - actually I just took the "aying" from "paying" and replaced the "aying" from "Staying" :)

"It’s a decent upbeat remix that still keeps the melancholy of the original." - upbeat & melancholic - how the PSB used to sound!

"what program do you use to make your videos" - I film them in Second Life (it was fun to revisit the block-people and Neil & Chris avatars after 10 years), in this case I had some TV's with bright green screens. I put that into Magix Movie Maker and chromakeyed out the green, with the original PSB video on layers underneath.

Thanks again everyone!
