Dreamland Stuart Price album mix (fan edit)

#1 Post by vincenzosz » Thu 13 Feb 2020, 12:33 am

Hi all,

I happen to quite like Dreamland - lyrically anyways. But I don't like the instrumentation. It doesnt fit the album, and its just loud and annoying to MY EARS.

So I created a new version from the TWD remix for myself. Sonically I think it fits better with the album, and I just like it more.

Let me know what you think.

You could tell me that's the original TWD remix and I wouldn't question it.
Sounds exactly the same, I don't know if anything was changed.
Meanwhile you have remixes like the https://soundcloud.com/djgiac-bootlegs/ ... dreamy-mix that sounds completely different to the original and the official remixes.

Geez, you guys are difficult.

I’m not a professional remixer.

I took the TWD remix and edited it down by removing some of the repetitive instrumentals, focusing more on the lyrics. I tried to create something more reminiscent of the album version but with different (and I’m my opinion better) backing track so sonically it matched more with the rest of Hotspot. The track is closer to the length and structure of the album version, I even added the middle eight by Neil. I kept the TWD instrumental break at the end because it’s cool.

I was quite happy with how it turned out and I’ve been listening to this for a few weeks now. I thought I’d share it in case anyone was interested. Clearly, I shouldn’t of bothered. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Next time I should of start a thread about trying to convince nickname why he’s wrong. 🙄

Oh well...🙏🏽
