Very the best album of all time?

#1 Post by Joemoz »

May I suggest we all add our votes to:

I'm not sure if this should actually have been off-topic :? In that case, sorry.

Why 'Very'?? Surely we'd be better voting for 'Behaviour' as that is generally seen as their best album and has appeared in the Q Top 100 before.

Well luckily enough there's room for five votes. I think Very and Behaviour have taken turns in being present on these sort of lists. And some would probably say that Actually or Introspective would stand a better chance of making it.

And no, Behaviour is not "generally" seen as their best album by most people. Most of the polls about "fans' favourite album" have Very and Behaviour very close.

"Very" wasn't even the best album of 1993 (that was Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle"). I've always found it terribly overrated. Awesome individual songs, but a few naff productions and a bit tiresome on the ears compared to most other PSB albums.

I'd rather vote for "Please" or "Introspective".

Behaviour is not generally regarded as their best album, it's just a big favourite among the current fanbase on the internet, the majority of which became PSB fans in the 90's. It was generally considered a disappointment at the time and tons of people stopped liking PSB because of it, then briefly came back with Very and totally lost hope after it.

Their best album objectively is Actually, though my fave is Please.
Does cameos only.

Yeah, that and Will Smith's album were really the highlights of that year. I remember it clearly. :wall:

Pet Shop Boys really should have scrapped their album when they heard those masterpieces. :P

Wasn't that Will Smith album the one with Summertime and Boom Shake The Room on? Not bad then.
